The 2020 F1 season will get underway on Sunday the 15th of March, with the opening race of the year being held in Australia.
It has been a rather dramatic off-season for Formula 1 fans with the Covid-19 virus already wreaking havoc on the calendar. There's also been drama during the off-season testing weekends with Ferrari running a lot slower than expected and Racing Point put in some blistering laps.

Off-Season Testing and 2019 Recap
So, once again Mercedes reigned supreme in an F1 season with Lewis Hamilton cantering to the Drivers' Championship and Valterri Bottas claiming second. The silver Arrows also strolled to the Constructors' Championship as they beat second-placed Ferrari by a staggering 234 points.
Speaking of Ferrari, the Prancing Stag team had a year to forget last season as their main man Sebastian Vettel delivered a poor campaign finishing way down in fifth on the Drivers' standings. There was a bit of a silver lining as new boy Charles LeClerc managed to claim fourth.
The Ferrari Drivers were beaten out of the Top 3 by Red Bull man Max Verstappen, who showed a hell of a lot of maturity last season delivering consistent drives.
At the other end of the field, Williams McLaren finished at the foot of the Constructors' standings while American team Haas Racing finished second to last.
In terms of the off-season stuff, Mercedes have been dominant as every racking up a number of blistering laps, although there is a slight worry over their engines with Lewis Hamilton having to sit out a practice session in Barcelona due to an oil pressure issue.
The surprise package of off-season testing was Racing point who managed to produce the goods at most practice sessions. They looked to be the third-fastest car on track, behind the Red Bulls and Mercedes, beating out the Ferraris on most practice days.
Track
The 5.303 km long track, which encircles the man-made Albert Park Lake, has been a mainstay on the F1 calendar for the past nineteen years. Although only a temporary track, it is considered to be the smoothest of all the road circuits due to the revamp it underwent in 1996. A firm favourite among fans and drivers alike, the Melbourne situated track lacks true straights so the DRS zones, situated along the pit straight and between turns two and three, maybe of vital importance during the race.
The local weather bureau is predicting rather decent conditions for this coming weekend with overcast skies and temperatures in the mid-to-high teens being forecast throughout the weekend.
Last year's race was won by Valterri Bottas with Lewis Hamilton claiming second place and Max Verstappen third.
Value Bet
Alexander Albon - Podium Finish - Yes @ 7/2
I rather like this bet, although, I won't be wagering the house on it. Albon has proved to be a competent driver since making the step up to the Red Bull senior team mid-way through last year.
With Ferrari seemingly struggling with power issues, Albon has a decent shot of landing himself on the podium this weekend.
To Win Race Outright
Lewis Hamilton @ 1/1
The 'Brit actually doesn't have the best of records out in Melbourne and has only won two Grand Prix in Australia. His last victory came way back in 2015 while his other win came in 2008.
He's got the best car on circuit, however, and I can see him having matched Sebastian Vettel's record of three race wins at the track come the chequered flag.
