Our football analyst previews the German Bundesliga Week 15 action which kicks off on Friday 13 December 2019.
Monchengladbach and Leipzig are neck and neck in the race for the league title, with the Foals occupying top spot in the Bundesliga. Dortmund moved up to third place following their thumping 5-0 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf, while defending champions Bayern Munich slipped down to seventh after they lost for the second consecutive week.

We kick things off at the PreZero Arena on Friday night as Hoffenheim host Augsburg. The hosts are eighth in the Bundesliga, while the visitors sit in 12th place. But despite being in a better position than the Fuggerstadter, Hoffenheim are winless in three games with two defeats.
Augsburg, on the other hand, are unbeaten in four matches, winning three times. However, the hosts will go into the game full of confidence as they are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Augsburg in the Bundesliga, recording six wins.

Bayern Munich will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they host Werder Bremen on Saturday. The Bavarians dropped down to seventh in the Bundesliga after losing 2-1 away to table-toppers Monchengladbach. That defeat – their second in a row – leaves them seven points behind the leaders. Werder Bremen suffered their sixth loss of the campaign – and third from four games – as they lost 1-0 at home to strugglers Paderborn.
The champions should come good here.

Bayer Leverkusen 8/10
Bayer Leverkusen will be aiming to continue with their fine run of form when they visit rock-bottom Cologne. The promoted side have struggled with life in the Bundesliga, winning just two of their 14 games, losing 10 times. Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last four league matches with victories over Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich and Schalke, with only Freiburg taking points off them by earning a 1-1 draw at the BayArena.
The away win is the way to go.

Borussia Dortmund 13/20
Borussia Dortmund will look to continue their winning streak when they face Mainz at the Opel Arena. The hosts come off a disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Augsburg, while Dortmund will be high on confidence following their thumping 5-0 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf, their second consecutive Bundesliga win.
Lucien Favre's team completed the double over the Carnival club last season and I fancy them to come away with all three points.
Hertha Berlin 21/20

Freiburg 5/2
Fifth-placed Freiburg travel to the Olympiastadion to face a struggling Hertha Berlin side. The hosts, who lie in 15th place, are winless in seven Bundesliga matches, losing five times. Although Jurgen Klinsmann came close to winning his first game in charge of Hertha against Eintracht Frankfurt last Friday. The Old Lady seemed to be heading for a 2-1 victory, but they conceded a late equalizer four minutes before time.
Freiburg will be looking to make it back-to-back victories after beating Wolfsburg 1-0, but they’ve struggled on their recent travels. Christian Streich's team are winless in their last four away games with two defeats.
I’m backing a draw here at 51/20.

Union Berlin 27/20
Union Berlin travel to the Benteler-Arena on Saturday to take on 17th-placed Paderborn. The relegation-threatened side recorded their second win of the season last weekend with a 1-0 victory away to Werder Bremen. Steffen Baumgart's men will be desperate to build on that result as they look to move out of the danger zone.
Union Berlin are 10th in the Bundesliga with four wins in their last five matches, however, three of those wins have come at home. The promoted side have been poor on their travels, losing four of their last five.
I’m backing the hosts on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 11/20.
Fortuna Dusseldorf 11/2

RB Leipzig 9/20
Leipzig will be looking to extend their winning streak at the Merkur Spiel-Arena when they face 16th-placed Fortuna Dusseldorf. Julian Nagelsmann’s free-scoring side are second in the Bundesliga and targeting a sixth straight league win, with striker Timo Werner scoring in each of his last five games.
The away side are oozing with confidence at the moment and should oust their opponents.

Borussia Monchengladbach 16/10
Table-toppers Monchengladbach will look to continue their fine form when they visit ninth-placed Wolfsburg on Sunday. The Foals underlined their title credentials last weekend when they defeated defending champions Bayern Munich 2-1 thanks to a brace from Ramy Bensebaini.
No team has won more Bundesliga matches this season than Gladbach, with Marco Rose's side recording 10 wins from 14 games. Wolfsburg are struggling at the moment with four defeats from their last five league games.
Back the leaders to claim maximum points.

Eintracht Frankfurt 5/2
The final fixture of gameweek 15 sees fourth-placed Schalke host 11th-placed Eintracht Frankfurt at the Veltins Arena on Sunday night. David Wagner's team will look to bounce back strongly after losing 2-1 at Leverkusen last weekend.
The Royal Blues will fancy their chances of victory as Eintracht Frankfurt are winless in four league games and have lost seven of their last eight away matches in the Bundesliga, stretching back to last season.
The home win is tipped confidently.
