Last weekend justified why the English Premier League is considered by many to be the greatest football league on the planet. There were upsets galore, including Liverpool’s first defeat of the campaign as they were hammered 3-0 by relegation-threatened Watford. To add to that, just one of the sides in the top half claimed all three points, courtesy of Wolves’ stunning 3-2 comeback at Tottenham. It’s exciting times in the Premier League and with more possible upsets on the cards, lets get straight into the action!

Saturday 7 March
Liverpool 1/4
Draw 52/10
Bournemouth 10/1
(14:30)
Liverpool’s superb 44-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end at Vicarage Road as Watford smashed the champions-in-waiting 3-0 last Saturday. It was undoubtedly the Reds’ most disappointing display of the season with their front three failing to truly test Ben Foster in goals.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, come off the back of a respectable performance against Chelsea, drawing 2-2 at home. Despite that result, the Cherries dropped down into the relegation zone with the teams around them all claiming victories. At Anfield, Liverpool still have a 100 percent record and should claim yet another victory on home soil.
Take the Reds on the (-1) Handicap at 13/20.
Arsenal 11/20
Draw 34/10
West Ham 47/10
(17:00)
Arsenal weren’t in action last weekend due to their opponents, Manchester City, competing in the Carabao Cup final. That would’ve meant that the Gunners had extra time off to prepare, while they also saw many of their top four rivals falter from the comfort of their couch.
West Ham returned to winning ways with a commendable 3-1 victory over Southampton. Away from home, the Hammers still have a few concerns to worry about, losing their last five league trips in a row.
Mikel Arteta’s men are still unbeaten in the league since the start of the year and should claim derby bragging rights at the Emirates Stadium.
Crystal Palace 31/20
Draw 22/10
Watford 19/10
(17:00)
Crystal Palace seem to have found their rhythm again, claiming a second successive 1-0 victory, this time over Brighton at the Amex Stadium. That result moved Palace up into 12th spot in the league and nine points off the relegation zone.
Watford were the big winners from last weekend, ending Liverpool’s unbeaten run and scoring just enough goals to move them out of the drop zone. Ismaila Sarr and Kiko Femenia returned to the line-up and caused havoc down the right flank. That result against the league leaders should be more than enough to motivate the Hornets as they look to close their campaign on a high.
Put your money on the Away/Draw Double Chance at 5/10.
Sheffield United 13/20
Draw 28/10
Norwich City 9/2
(17:00)
Sheffield United return to league duties after their scheduled game against Aston Villa was postponed due to the Villans’ Carabao Cup commitments. The Blades also had the luxury of sitting back and watching their closest rivals drop points.
These teams may have come up together from the Championship, but have had contrasting seasons with Norwich down in the dumps, sitting rock bottom of the division, despite an emphatic 1-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend. At this stage of the season, we usually see teams at the bottom fighting for their lives, so perhaps it isn’t the worst idea to believe that the Canaries will get a goal at Bramall Lane.
At 6/10, back the Clean Sheet Home Team: No market.
Southampton 13/20
Draw 3/1
Newcastle United 17/4
(17:00)
Southampton will be hoping to put that disappointing 3-1 defeat at West Ham behind them when they welcome Newcastle United to St. Mary’s Stadium this Saturday. Throughout the campaign, the Saints have been disappointing on home soil, however, they have won two of their last four home ties, keeping clean sheets over Tottenham and Aston Villa, which is decent by their standards.
Newcastle United are winless in five matches, failing to score in each of their last four encounters.
Southampton are priced at 13/10 to keep a clean sheet and stretch Newcastle’s goal drought, however, take one step further and back the Saints to Win to Nil at 33/20.
Wolves 7/10
Draw 28/10
Brighton 4/1
(17:00)
Wolves have the chance to go fourth in the standings, at least for 24 hours, when they host Brighton this Saturday afternoon. Nuno Espirito Santo has yet again defied the odds to push for a place in Europe for the second year running with Wolves, so soon after getting promoted from the English Championship.
Last weekend, they showed great fight and character to come from behind twice to win 3-2 at Tottenham. Brighton are winless in eight games and could see themselves drawn into an unwanted relegation scramble after a decent start to the season.
Back Wolves here at 7/10.
Burnley 2/1
Draw 9/4
Tottenham 14/10
(19:30)
Saturday’s late kick-off sees a cracking encounter at Turf Moor between in-form Burnley and a deflated Tottenham Hotspur side. The hosts are unbeaten in six league matches in what has been arguably their toughest run of fixtures this season, beating Leicester City and Manchester United, while they drew with Arsenal.
In that run, they also kept four clean sheets, which has proved to be crucial as Nick Pope leads the clean sheet charts with 11 to his name – one ahead of Alisson Becker. Tottenham have lost two on the bounce in the league, both against fellow European chasing rivals in the form of Chelsea and Wolves. Now, if Burnley win, they could go above Tottenham.
At 2/1, it provides plenty of value, while there’s also a massive chance of it happening – my money is on the Clarets.
Sunday 8 March
Chelsea 7/10
Draw 29/10
Everton 36/10
(16:00)
Chelsea and Everton lock horns in the first of the ‘Super Sunday’ double battle as the race for top four continues to heat up in the final stanza of the season. Carlo Ancelotti returns to Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Premier League rival, and faces his former vice-captain in Frank Lampard.
Chelsea come off the back of a disappointing result against Bournemouth, drawing 2-2. That means its just one win in six for the Blues in recent weeks. As for Everton, they were unfortunately denied maximum points over Manchester United with their stoppage-time winner being ruled out by VAR. In their last seventies, the Toffees have lost just once.
I’m tipping these sides to cancel each other out.
Manchester United 9/2
Draw 34/10
Manchester City 11/20

Monday 9 March
Leicester City 4/10
Draw 4/1
Aston Villa 13/2
(22:00)
We close proceedings on Monday night with a fiery tie against Leicester City and Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes are suffering their worst run of form this campaign and are currently winless in four ties. They’ve also lost back-to-back games, failing to score in their last three league encounters.
Aston Villa will take encouragement from dumping Leicester City out of the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and will use that as a great tool of motivation to get a result on Monday.
In the league, Villa have lost their last three. Under 2.5 Goals looks profitable at 14/10, get on!
TREBLE @ 33/10
Liverpool (-1) Handicap 13/20
Arsenal Win 11/20
Wolves Win 7/10
