The consistent Trippi gelding followed up that effort with a promising run in much stronger company four weeks ago. He was, in fact, a head adrift of
RESPECTABLE REBEL when 3rd that day but is now 3.5kgs to the good and can turn things around. That formline has worked out well.

KINGSTON MINES was given a great ride when returning to winning ways in the marathon Glenlair Trophy over two miles last time and the veteran stayer deserved the nine-week absence. This extra distance will be no issue for the chestnut gelding who could again enjoy the run of the race in the absence of a natural pacesetter. The Greeff inmate does appear to have this contest at his mercy.

This lightly raced and injury plagued four-year old has decent scope for progress and seems rather lowly rated on his handicap debut. He should strip fitter and has strong claims of following up over this minimum trip.
