Our footy scribe previews the fifth round of the English FA Cup.
Manchester City are the favourites for the FA Cup at 7/2 with Chelsea installed as second favourites at 4/1. Pep Guardiola’s side travel to Huddersfield, while the Blues face a tough trip to Wolves. Arsenal and Man United - the joint-most successful clubs in the competition - are next up at 9/2, while Tottenham are priced at 6/1 as we enter the fifth round stage.
Saturday 18 February
Burnley 3/10 | Draw 17/4 | Lincoln City 17/2
The FA Cup fifth round kicks off with Burnley taking on non-league side Lincoln City at Turf Moor. Burnley, who have so far knocked out Sunderland and Bristol City, will be bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since 2003. The Clarets have turned Turf Moor into a fortress, collecting 29 points from a possible 42 in the Premier League.
Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in their last seven FA Cup matches on home soil, winning five times. National League leaders Lincoln secured their place in the last 16 of the competition for the first time in 115 years with a 3-1 win over Championship club Brighton in round four. It's the first time the Red Imps have made it to the last 16 of football's oldest competition since 1902.
Burnley are tipped to make home advantage count at 3/10.
Huddersfield 57/10 | Draw 36/10 | Manchester City 4/10
Huddersfield thrashed League One side Rochdale 4-0 to advance to the fifth round of the competition for the first time since the 2012/13 season. The Terriers will be looking to spring an upset against Pep Guardiola’s team.
David Wagner‘s side currently sit in third place in the EFL Championship, with 58 points in 30 matches. In their two matches in the FA Cup, they have won by a combined scoreline of 8-0. Manchester City will have one eye on Tuesday’s Round of 16 clash against Monaco and are likely to rest several key starters.
Man City should still prove too strong for Huddersfield, however, Both Teams to Score is my tip at 8/10.
Middlesbrough 5/10 | Draw 31/10 | Oxford United 11/2
Top-flight Middlesbrough will welcome non-league side Oxford United to the Riverside Stadium. Aitor Karanka's side booked their place in the fifth round for the second time in three seasons after a narrow 1-0 win over League Two side Accrington, Stewart Downing scoring the only goal, having swept past Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 in the previous round.
Despite their struggles in the Premier League, Boro are hot favourites to reach the last eight by beating an Oxford side who dumped out Newcastle United in one of the many fourth-round upsets. The non-league clubs’s fairytale run in the competition looks set to end as their away form has been poor.
The home win is tipped at 5/10.
Millwall 37/20 | Draw 43/20 | Leicester City 29/20
Premier League champions Leicester travel to League One outfit Millwall in the fifth round. Neil Harris’ side will be looking to topple the third Premier League opponent of their FA Cup campaign after eliminating Bournemouth and Watford at the Den, winning by a combined scoreline of 4-0. The Lions haven’t reached the sixth round since their semi-final exit to Wigan in 2012/13, but they’ll fancy their chances against the fallen champions.
A 2-2 draw at Pride Park last month forced a reply for Claudio Ranieri’s side and, after another 90-minute stalemate, stunning strikes from Wilfred Ndidi and Demarai Gray sent the Foxes through, giving them their first home win of 2017.
Leicester have been dreadful on their travels and the home win is worth a punt at 37/20.
Wolves 6/1 | Draw 37/10 | Chelsea 4/10
High-flying Wolves will face a stern test when they host runaway Premier League leaders Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday. The last time these teams met was in a League Cup tie in 2012 when the Blues thrashed Wolves 6-0.
The Old Gold, who are 18th in the EFL Championship, have lost three consecutive matches in the league, going down 2-1 at Burton Albion, before suffering back-to-back 1-0 home defeats against Newcastle last Saturday and then Wigan on Tuesday. Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways following their 1-1 draw at Burnley last Sunday. Leading up to the game, the Premier League leaders are unbeaten in seven matches with five wins, scoring 18 goals while conceding four.
Wolves are struggling in the Championship, while Chelsea are flying high at top of the Premier League table. The Blues have world class players that are superior to Wolves in all departments.

Sunday 19 February
Fulham 32/10 | Draw 26/10 | Tottenham 15/20
Tottenham will face Fulham at Craven Cottage in a London derby in the fifth round of the tournament. Spurs booked their place in the last 16 with a dramatic 4-3 win over League Two Wycombe Wanderers after trailing 2-0 and 3-2.
Mauricio Pochettino’s young side are looking to win the famous competition for the ninth time in the club’s history, with Spurs most recently lifting the trophy in 1991. Fulham, who knocked out Cardiff City and Hull City, have only won three out of their last 19 matches against Spurs in all competitions (dating back to January 2007).
Back the visitors to win at 15/20.
Blackburn 7/1 | Draw 38/10 | Manchester United 7/20
Manchester United will be hoping to continue their FA Cup title defence after comfortable home wins against Championship sides Reading and Wigan Athletic in previous rounds. The Red Devils are unbeaten in nine games in the competition and will be confident of victory against Blackburn who are in the Championship drop zone.
Owen Coyle’s side overcame Queens Park Rangers and most recently Blackpool to reach this stage. They last faced United in April 2012, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men triumphed by a 2-0 scoreline in Lancashire as Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia struck a goal each.
Jose Mourinho’s side should have too much in the locker for Blackburn.
Monday 20 February
Sutton United 13/1 | Draw 6/1 | Arsenal 1/6
Non-league Sutton United will face a daunting test when they host 12-time winners Arsenal in the fifth round on Monday night. Sutton are 16th in the National League and have played seven games to get this far in the competition, including wins over league sides Cheltenham Town, Wimbledon and Leeds.
Arsene Wenger’s side demolished Southampton 5-0 at St Mary's Stadium to enter the fifth round of the FA Cup. Theo Walcott scored an amazing hat-trick for the Gunners and Danny Welbeck scored twice against Claude Puel’s hapless side.
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last nine away games in the FA Cup – take them on the Half-time/Full-time Win at 5/10.
