Orlando Pirates 0-3 Kaizer Chiefs (TKO Final 2010)
Lifting a trophy is always something to remember and celebrate for any club in the world and there is no better way of celebrating silverware than beating your biggest rivals. In December 2010, Kaizer Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates 3-0 to be crowned Telkom Knockout Cup champions at a packed FNB Stadium. A brace from Sthembiso Ngcobo and a goal from Siphiwe Tshabalala saw the Amakhosi rack up a record-extending 13th title in this competition.
Brilliant Khuzwayo MTN Final 2014
In September 2014, Kaizer Chiefs learned that they will be without their number 1 goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune in the final of the MTN8 against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. That meant young Brilliant Khuzwayo will be in between the sticks for the big encounter and that excited a lot of Pirates supporters. A blessing in disguise for the Amakhosi faithful as Khuzwayo played the game of his life, pulling off a man of the match performance to help his team defeat their biggest rivals and be crowned MTN8 champions.
David Obua cracker
In the 2005 season, Ugandan International David Obua played his first-ever Soweto derby and the left-back scored a cracker inside the first five minutes to the delight of the old FNB Stadium. Thabo Mooki took a corner that never looked threatening until it met Obua who connected with the laces and belted it home, beating a helpless Thabani Stemmer.
Daniel Cardoso late penalty
Kaizer Chiefs finally ended their league drought against their rivals in a 3-2 thriller. Chiefs were 2-0 up inside the first 30 minutes but the Buccaneers responded and made it 2-2 in what looked like their day. In the last eight minutes, Amakhosi were granted a penalty after Abel Mabaso brought Bernard Parker down inside the box and Daniel Cardoso scored his third Soweto Derby goal to ensure three points for the Glamour Boys earlier this campaign.
Shaun Bartlett header
The last Soweto Derby goal at the old FNB Stadium has to be one of the favourite moments for Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Their current assistant coach Shaun Bartlett scored a header which was the last touch of the game to level matters for Amakhosi and deny Orlando Pirates three points, who had taken the lead in the first half from a Benedict Vilakazi cracker.
