Sitting 10th and 12th on the standings respectively, Bath and Gloucester’s match at the Rec on Friday gives each another crack at clawing back.
After their fourth-place finish last season, the hosts are a long way off the pace this time round. With three wins from nine and just 16-points to their name, Stuart Hooper’s side need a helluva back season push to earn a respectable finish here.
But if Bath have been poor, Gloucester have been shocking. One win and just 10-points means they are rooted to the bottom despite losing by some seriously narrow margins over the past few weeks. Back them to come good here though.

Harlequins v Sale Sharks

Tied on 28-points each, the battle between fourth-placed Harlequins and third-placed Sale at the Stoop on Saturday is set to be a goodie.
Quins have won all three of their matches since their draw at Irish in round six. Skippered by former Sharks and Springbok lock Stephan Lewies, the hosts are looking likely to push hard for a playoff berth but can’t afford to slip up in yet another uber-competitive season.
Sale’s disappointing loss to Bath last week saw them fall back within reach of the chasing pack. They’ll do well to earn a W here but should just come unstuck.

Exeter v Northampton

Both Exeter and Northampton are on three-match winning runs as they meet at Sandy Park on Saturday.
The Chiefs have rebounded well from their loss to Bristol in round six and are just a point behind the first-placed Bears. They should maintain their good form here.
This match has probably just come at the wrong time for the Saints, who were picking up momentum. The visitors have lost their last five encounters against the Chiefs.

Worcester v Newcastle

Newcastle can remain in mid-table pace with a win over the Warriors at the Sixways on Saturday.
The Falcons may have lost their last two games but still sit healthily on 23-points in seventh-place. They should expect to see off the lowly Warriors here.
Worcester are 11th, just a single point ahead of last-placed Gloucester. They’ve lost seven in succession, with a last win coming in a one-point victory over Irish in November.
Verdict: Newcastle
Leicester v Wasps

Leicester can leapfrog Wasps with a big result over them when the two meet at Welford Road on Saturday.
The Tigers have been much improved this campaign and currently occupy ninth but are within striking distance of a number of Prem sides. If they bag a BP win here, they could jump several places up the standings.
As is always the case for many of the clubs in the uber-competitive Premiership, Wasps have endured haphazard results so far. Still, they’re sixth and just four-points off the top four. They should beat Leicester here.

Sunday 21 February
London Irish v Bristol Bears

Table-toppers the Bears will be favourites to see off London Irish at the Brentford Stadium on Sunday.
Bristol sit a point ahead of Exeter at the summit as they continue to set the pace in the championship. They should continue to do so after their visit to Brentford this weekend.
Irish are eighth and firmly in the mid-table tussle. They’d do well to upset the status quo here though.
