Magic Tips Preview
NOBLE SECRET handled the step-up in grade well when making late progress to finish exactly one length adrift of SURCHARGE in the Guineas last month and both entrants should relish today's extra furlong. The former is well drawn at gate 4 though and he could hold the edge with his in-form regular pilot back in the irons.
SURCHARGE has to unfortunately contend with another poor draw but the manner in which he finished his last start after racing wide, indicates that hthis distance will suit him really well.
MAJESTIC MAMBO had a shocking recent effort behind the above pairing and he will need to find his best form. Of course the Mambo In Seattle colt had three breathtaking victories over this trip prior to that and he certainly deserves another chance. Interestingly, his conditioner has resorted to the services of a top jockey.
The KZN raider ROY HAD ENOUGH has shown smart potential and he wasn't far behind a few of these rivals in The Dingaans over a mile on this track late last spring. He's had a decent prep coming into this event and must be included. The imported colt should enjoy the extra furlong.
