Our football expert previews round 14 of the Italian Serie A which resumes on Saturday the 30th of November 2018.
Only 13 games into the Serie A and Juventus already seem to be running away with the Scudetto following Napoli’s shocking goalless draw on home soil against bottom and winless Chievo, who seems all but certain to face the axe come May 2019. Enough about that, let’s get to this weekend’s action.
Saturday 1 December
SPAL 14/10

Empoli 39/20
SPAL have been terrible in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches but put in a decent performance last weekend despite going down 2-0 at table-toppers Juventus. Empoli have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins and will be looking to maintain that form.
Home advantage could play a vital role in the result here but Empoli have found the back of the net in each of their last five matches. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is tipped at 15/20.
Fiorentina 47/10

Juventus 6/10
Fiorentina are unbeaten on home soil with four wins from six matches but have drawn their last five games. Runaway leaders Juventus have been brilliant with 12 victories from 13 matches, scoring 28 goals and conceding just eight goals.
The Old Lady have won seven of the last eight meetings against Fiorentina and are tipped to build on that. The away win is on the cards.
Sampdoria 9/10
Draw 24/10
Bologna 32/10
Sampdoria have been poor in recent weeks as they remain without a victory in their last five matches. Relegation-threatened Bologna have managed just two wins from 13 games and are winless on the road, scoring just four goals.
La Samp have won the last three meetings at home against Bologna.
At 9/10, the hosts are well worth a punt to claim maximum points.
Sunday 2 December
AC Milan 4/10
Draw 37/10
Parma 13/2
Sunday’s lunch-time kick off will see AC Milan take on Parma. The Rossoneri have won four of their six home games but are without a win in their last two games. Parma have won back-to-back games and should come into this game with a bit of confidence.
The new boys on the block will look to build on that momentum but that is easier said than done against Italian giants. I’m expecting both sides to find the back of the net at 17/20.
Sassuolo 9/10
Draw 5/2
Udinese 3/1
Sassuolo are coming off a 2-1 defeat away to Parma and return to their home ground this weekend where they are without a win in their last three matches. Following a run of seven winless games, Udinese claimed an impressive 1-0 victory over Roma last time out.
The last nine meetings have produced cagey affairs between these sides with an average of 1.55 goals per game. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market is on the cards at 8/10.
Frosinone 2/1
Draw 9/4
Cagliari 14/10
Frosinone are placed second from bottom on the log with just one measly win from 13 matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding 28 times. Cagliari have travelled poorly with only one victory from seven travels.
Both teams have battled to score goals but the Islanders have ground out consecutive hard-fought draws and will be looking to go one better. Get on the Correct Score market and take Cagliari to win 1-0 at 6/1.
Torino 15/20

Genoa 37/10
Torino and Genoa have both managed just four wins from 13 matches but the latter have suffered three more defeats. The hosts have always proven tough to beat on home soil and Sunday afternoon should be no different.
Genoa have lost four of their six travels, scoring eight goals and conceding 18 times.
Back Torino to get the all-important win.
Chievo 57/10

Lazio 9/20
Chievo are rooted to the bottom of the table and remain without a victory after 13 matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding 30 times. I’m not convinced by their goalless draw at Napoli last weekend and it hasn’t fooled me into thinking that they might have turned a corner.
Lazio have lacked consistency in recent weeks but they have done fairly well on the road and are expected to come away with the goods. Take the away team to get the job done.
Roma 7/4
Draw 51/20
Inter Milan 29/20
Roma have been below par this season but home advantage should see them push Inter Milan all the way. The latter have been in top form with seven wins from their last eight matches and will look to maintain that form.
The Stadio Olimpico will be buzzing on Sunday with one side looking to find a winning rhythm, while the other is looking to build on their momentum. Take Inter Milan to Win and Both Teams to Score at 29/10.
Monday 3 December
Atalanta 2/1
Draw 51/20
Napoli 5/4
Last but not least, Atalanta and Napoli will go toe-to-toe at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia. The home side have won four of their last five matches but fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat at Empoli last weekend.
Napoli somehow managed to play to a shocking goalless draw at home against a woeful Chievo side and they will be eager to return to winning ways here. I’m expecting a cagey first half, so get on second half to produce the Highest Scoring Half at even money.
