Our soccer analyst previews the German Bundesliga week 30 action which kicks off on Saturday 20 April 2019.
Round 29 of the Bundesliga proved to be a cracker for yours truly as I was on the money with eight out of nine tips. Form is temporary and class is permanent and I will be looking to prove that this weekend.
Just five gameweeks to go and it looks to be a two-horse race for the title with none other than Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund battling it out at the summit. Let’s get to this weekend’s fixtures and see what’s good on the betting front!

Werder Bremen 13/1
The Bavarians are just a point clear of Dortmund at the top of the standings with the black and yellow army breathing down their necks. Bayern have been in top form and remain unbeaten at home with 13 wins from 15 games, scoring 47 goals and conceding just 19 times.
Werder Bremen, however, are unbeaten in their last 16 matches in all competitions.
With that being said, I’m backing a tight and cagey affair. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market offers great value at 26/10!
Bayer Leverkusen 3/10

Nuremburg 7/1
Bayer Leverkusen have lost three of their last four matches but are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Stuttgart. Relegation-threatened Nuremburg have shown a lot of fighting spirit in recent weeks but that doesn’t change the fact that they are winless on their travels, scoring just nine goals and conceding 37 times.
The hosts are still in reach of top four and should give one final push.
Back Bayer Leverkusen on the (-1) Handicap at 15/20.
Augsburg 1/1
Draw 51/20
Stuttgart 5/2
Augsburg ended a run of consecutive defeats with a surprise 3-1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt. Stuttgart are without a win in their last five matches and are winless on the road in their last nine games in all competitions.
The last four meetings have produced just three goals between these sides.
The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market looks ripe for the picking at even money.
Mainz 11/10

Dusseldorf 23/10
Mainz have lost eight of their last 10 matches but return to their home ground where they thumped Freiburg 5-0 last time around. Dusseldorf are coming off a 4-1 defeat to Bayern Munich following back-to-back victories.
I’m expecting both sides to get on the scoresheet on Saturday afternoon.
Goals are on the menu, so take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.
Monchengladbach 2/1
Draw 5/2
Leipzig 5/4
Monchengladbach are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Hannover. The Borussians are winless on their turf in their last five games and take on an in-form Leipzig team.
The Red Bulls have won four in a row, scoring 12 goals and conceding just twice.
This one can go either which way but with Timo Werner among the top goalscorers, I’m backing the German forward to get on the scoresheet with the Anytime Goalscorer market at 13/10.
Schalke 26/10
Draw 29/10
Hoffenheim 9/10
Schalke have been horrendous in recent weeks with just one win from their last 13 matches in all competitions. Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last five matches with five wins and just one draw in the process.
The hosts are struggling at the moment and I simply can’t see them coming out of the contest unscathed.
The away win is tipped.

Freiburg 9/2

Borussia Dortmund 11/20
Freiburg have been dismal of late with two losses on the bounce, scoring once and conceding seven times. Dortmund returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win over Mainz, making it their fourth victory from their last five matches.
BVB are unbeaten against Freiburg in the last 11 meetings with nine wins.
Enough said, back Dortmund to come away with all three points.
Hertha Berlin 11/20
Draw 34/10
Hannover 17/4
Hertha Berlin have been terrible in recent weeks with six straight losses which makes a person question their low price to win.
Relegation-bound Hannover have lost their last nine matches in all competitions and are yet to win a match on the road.
The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market catches my attention with both sides battling to score goals and win games. Get on at 27/20!
Monday 22 April
Wolfsburg 15/10
Draw 5/2
Eintracht Frankfurt 33/20
We round off proceedings on Monday night with Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt set to lock horns. The Wolves have been inconsistent in recent weeks but have made sure that they capitalize on home advantage.
Eintracht Frankfurt have won six of their last seven league games and will look to build on that in their hunt for top four.
However, Wolfsburg have won four of the last five meetings between the sides and are tipped to edge the win here.
