Maties and Tuks will lock horns in the 2019 Varsity Cup Final on Monday the 15th of April.
The 2019 Varsity Cup will come to a close this Monday with reigning champions Maties taking on a solid Tuks outfit. When these two sides met during the round-robin phase, Maties managed to snatch a narrow two-point victory in Pretoria. Will the men from Stellenbosch come out on top again or will Tuks get a spot of revenge.

Maties
The Cape-based side has been in sensational form once again this year winning all of their fixtures on the way to the final. So dominant have the Maties been, that they have racked up a staggering points differential of +298 headed into Monday's showpiece event.
Maties have a had a bit of a patchy record in finals rugby over the past three years winning only one of the last three finals. This victory came last season where they hammered Pukke 40-7 at tonight's venue.
Their last finals meeting with Tuks didn't go as well as they went down 28-21 to the Pretoria-based university.
Tuks
While Tuks haven't been as all-conquering as their opponents, they have still enjoyed a fantastic year winning seven of their eight round-robin phase games before beating a plucky NWU Pukke outfit 24-18 in last Monday's semi-final.
Tuks may not have won as many Varsity Cups as Maties but they do have a healthy finals record winning three of the four finals they have contested. They actually have a great record against Maties in finals winning all three finals between the sides. All of these victories came a Tuks' home ground, however.
Verdict: Tuks (+13.5) 9/10
This should be a very tight game with both sides evenly matched. While I expect Maties to win it, I can see Tuks staying within a somewhat generous handicap.
