Gameweek 21 of the 2019/20 German Bundesliga kicks off on Friday 7 February 2019. Check out our full betting preview below.
Back where they belong! Bayern Munich have returned to the summit after Leipzig dropped points in a 2-2 home draw against Borussia Monchengladbach.
At the opposite end of the table, Mainz, Werder Bremen, Dusseldorf and Cologne all struggling to find a winning formula. With 14 rounds remaining, it’s anyone’s guess who will fall!
Friday 7 February
Eintracht Frankfurt 8/10
Draw 29/10
Augsburg 3/1
Eintracht Frankfurt are unbeaten in their last three games with two wins and a draw. Augsburg have lost three of their last four matches but are coming off a hard-earned 2-1 win at home against Werder Bremen.
However, they have lost back-to-back games on the road, scoring just once and conceding five times. Nonetheless, Augsburg showed some fight last time out to get the win and I’m backing them to at least get on the scoresheet.
Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 5/10.
Saturday 8 February
Wolfsburg 6/10
Draw 3/1
Fortuna Dusseldorf 17/4
Wolfsburg smashed basement-dwellers Paderborn 4-2 last time out and will be hungry to make it two wins on the spin. Fortuna Dusseldorf have the worst away record in the league with just one victory from 10 travels.
The Wolves have struggled on home soil this season but should do enough to claim all three points here.
Back the hosts to get up for the win.
Werder Bremen 1/1
Draw 26/10
Union Berlin 5/2
Werder Bremen have been dismal in recent weeks with six losses from their last seven matches. However, Union Berlin have lost four of their last five games, leaving them in the same WhatsApp group as the hosts.
While both teams will be desperate to win this one, they also might be a bit cautious at the back.
A tight game is on the cards with the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market tipped at 11/10.
Hertha Berlin 1/1
Draw 26/10
Mainz 51/20
Hertha Berlin have found a bit of form of late with a 2-1 win away to Wolfsburg before playing to a goalless draw at home against Schalke. Mainz have been dreadful in recent weeks with four defeats on the trot, conceding nine goals and scoring just three.
The Old Lady have won three of the last four meetings at home against Mainz and are expected to build on that.
Get on the home win at 1/1.
Freiburg 16/10
Draw 51/20
Hoffenheim 31/20
Freiburg have lost two matches on the bounce, conceding six goals without scoring any. Hoffenheim have been in great form with four wins from their last five games, including back-to-back victories on the road.
Freiburg won the reverse tie 3-0 but the form guide is pointing in the direction of a revenge plot.
Back Hoffenheim to come away with maximum points.
Schalke 5/10
Draw 7/2
Paderborn 5/1
Schalke are unbeaten at home since the opening game of the season against Bayern Munich, a run of nine matches. Bottom-placed Paderborn have registered just four wins from 20 games and that doesn’t look likely to improve here.
The Royal Blues have won the last five meetings against Paderborn, including a 5-1 victory in the reverse tie.
The home win looks a solid bet.
Bayer Leverkusen 2/1
Draw 28/10
Borussia Dortmund 11/10
Bayer Leverkusen have been excellent with three wins from their last four matches but are coming off a 2-1 defeat away to Hoffenheim. Dortmund have won three games on the spin, scoring five goals in each of those matches.
Both sides have plenty of goals in them – obviously – and with that being said I’m climbing into the exotic markets.
Both Halves – Over 1.5 Goals – is tipped at 23/10.
Sunday 9 February
Monchengladbach 7/10
Draw 3/1
Cologne 36/10
Monchengladbach are off the back of a hard-fought 2-2 draw away to Leipzig and have won their last eight games on home soil. Cologne have been in top form with four wins from their last five matches but have also lost four of their last five away games.
Gladbach have won three of the last four meetings against Cologne and are well worth a punt to add to that.
The Borussians are tipped for the win.
Bayern Munich 4/10
Draw 9/2
Leipzig 52/10
Bayern Munich have been back to their best with six straight victories, scoring 23 goals and conceding only three times. Leipzig have dropped points in their last two games and will be desperate to get back on track.
A cagey contest is on the cards. The last three meetings have produced under 2.5 goals.
Follow the trend at a massive 24/10!
TREBLE TIPPED @ 10/1
Hertha Berlin 1/1
Monchengladbach Win 7/10
Bayern Munich vs Leipzig Under 2.5 Goals 24/10
