It looks like there is no stopping Real Madrid at the top after yet another convincing win thrashing Osasuna 4-1 last Sunday. Barcelona were not so impressive at Real Betis, but still managed to grind out a 3-2 victory. Getafe have been fantastic this season and they look set to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. Nothing changed in the bottom three after all teams involved dropped points on gameweek 23. As usual in La Liga, there’s lots of value and money to be made. Let’s see what round 24 has in store for us.

Friday 14 February
Valencia 21/10
Draw 2/1
Atletico Madrid 29/20
(22:00)
We kick off the round with a very tricky contest between two inconsistent sides. Valencia will be happy to return to their home stadium after back-to-back away defeats, including last week’s 3-0 thrashing by Getafe. The Bats were impressive in their last two home games though, beating Levante and Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid ended their winless run when scrapping through with a 1-0 win at home to Granada. This is now a must-win game for both teams if they are to qualify for Champions League. Atleti are currently fourth on the table – 13 points behind the log leaders and that is unacceptable.
Back these sides to cancel each other out.
Saturday 15 February
Mallorca 14/10
Draw 21/10
Alaves 43/20
(14:00)
Mallorca’s terrible away form sees them in the relegation zone. The Vermilions have registered just one point on the road and that has sabotaged the good work they’ve put in at home where they have won five and drawn twice in 12 matches.
Alaves are nine points clear of the red zone, which means they are not guaranteed safety and picking up points in such matches will be vital for the visitors.
It’s hard to pick a winner here, back Both Teams to Score at 19/20.
Barcelona 4/10
Draw 36/10
Getafe 13/2
(17:00)
Barcelona have been far from convincing under their new coach but performances at this time of the season don’t really matter as long as the team is winning. The Catalan giants are three points behind their rivals who look like a league winning team. Teenage sensation Ansu Fati has been making all the headlines and breaking all the records, including the first-half brace in their last home game.
Getafe are seven points behind Barcelona and the visitors are playing with so much confidence right now. The visitors are on a four-match winning streak and kept a clean sheet in each of those fixtures. Barca have won each of their last three meetings with Getafe, but I wouldn’t be shocked if that changes on Saturday.
I’ll put my head on the block here and back the in-form side to shock the champions at 13/2.
Villarreal 5/10
Draw 7/2
Levante 5/1
(19:30)
Villarreal have been in fine form in recent weeks and have the home advantage as well this Saturday. The Yellow Submarine are now on 35 points and a win here can take them to the Europa League qualification zone and the home fans will fancy themselves in such matches.
The wheels have come off Levante, but luckily, they are safe from relegation – for now – despite their terrible form, losing four of their last five matches.
Get on the home win and include them in all multiples.
Granada 14/10
Draw 2/1
Valladolid 22/10
(22:00)
Granada have been my favourite team when playing at home. The hosts are ultra-consistent in their backyard, winning seven of their 11 encounters. Roberto Soldado is in red-hot form lately and he will once again be the danger man in this match.
Valladolid have been blowing hot and cold this season. The visitors have won, drawn and lost in their last three matches, which proves how inconsistent they can be.
Back Granada to win here.
Sunday 16 February
Sevilla 11/20
Draw 28/10
Espanyol 52/10
(13:00)
Sevilla are slowly throwing away their top four hopes and with teams like Getafe not going away, it will be hard for Sevilla to make up ground. The Sevillistas were disappointing in their last two league matches, drawing at home to Alaves and losing to Celta Vigo.
Espanyol got their much-needed win last week when beating Mallorca to go level on 18 points. Three teams are now on 18 points and that’s a good step for the Catalans who were once clear favourites to go down.
Because of home advantage, take Sevilla to win.
Leganes 14/10
Draw 43/20
Real Betis 21/10
(15:00)
Relegation fighting Leganes will host Real Betis on Sunday at the Estadio Butarque where have collected just 13 points – and that’s been one of the reasons that they’re so low on the table. Real Betis are not good travelers, also winning just once on the road. The head-to-head say this fixture has been dominated by the team playing at home with the last seven encounters favoring the home side.
Let’s continue with the trend and back the home win.
Eibar 17/10
Draw 9/4
Sociedad 16/10
(17:00)
Strugglers Eibar will entertain an in-form Real Sociedad side who have won six of their last seven matches, while the hosts are winless in the last four. The visitors are eying a top-four finish which is achievable as they are two points behind Atletico Madrid.
To get top four, you need to win at the tough grounds and show you’re ready to compete against the best of Europe. If you still struggling at these kinds of places, then you’re not good enough for Champions League, it’s that simple.
Back the visitors to clinch this one.
Athletic Bilbao 1/1
Draw 22/10
Osasuna 3/1
(19:30)
Athletic Bilbao’s form just went from good to bad this year. The team was doing very well towards the end of 2019, but came back differently from the break. Bilbao have failed to win a single game this year in the league, losing three and drawing four.
Osasuna were thrashed by Real Madrid last week but we won’t put too much reading on that game, because Madrid are a different class. Only three points separate these two sides in mid-table and the visitors tend to do well in such matches.
Get on the draw at 22/10.
Real Madrid 3/10
Draw 9/2
Celta De Vigo 8/1
(22:00)
We round off proceedings with high-flying Real Madrid playing hosts to strugglers Celta Vigo – a side they’ve beaten in each of the last four meetings.
Madrid are in a good mood these days, even players like Luka Jovic are now picking up form and gaining confidence. Zidane will be pleased with his team, despite big-name players like Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale not producing anything for the team.
Back Real Madrid to Win Both Halves at 17/10.
TREBLE @ 87/10
Real Madrid Win Both Halves 17/10
Granada Win 14/10
Villarreal Win 5/10
