Barcelona were the only team in the top five to walk away with maximum points in gameweek 24. Real Madrid were the most disappointing team last weekend, dropping points at home to Celta Vigo, leaving the gap to a single point after Barcelona scraped through Getafe. Sevilla failed to take advantage of Atletico Madrid’s Friday night slip up against Valencia. There were no changes in the bottom three as all teams involved still occupy the same spots. Gameweek 25 looks interesting with lots of money to be made.

Friday 21 February
Real Betis 5/10
Draw 34/10
Mallorca 52/10
(22:00)
We kick off the round with a low-key affair that has the most deceiving betting ever. Real Betis should never be 5/10 favourites against anyone in the league. Their home record of six wins and two draws suggest that they should win this match, but their recent form of one win from the last five suggests otherwise.
Mallorca finally ended their four-match losing streak when beating Alaves last week. Despite their victory, the visitors are still in the drop zone after Celta Vigo picked up a point at Madrid.
It’s hard to trust either team on current form, so back a draw here.
Saturday 21 February
Celta Vigo 1/1
Draw 43/20
Leganes 3/1
(14:00)
Celta Vigo’s point gained last weekend must have felt like a victory. Not only was it at the Bernabeu, but it was enough to take them out of the bottom three. The hosts have picked up four points from their last two matches, including a win against Sevilla in their last home game and that’s serious indications that this team is motivated and wants to stay up.
Leganes were disappointing in their last game, playing in a goalless draw at home to Real Betis and they didn’t look convincing at all in the match.
Get on Celta Vigo because of the momentum.
Barcelona 1/5
Draw 57/10
Eibar 11/1
(17:00)
Barcelona were once again far from convincing against Getafe last weekend but did enough to claim maximum points. The Catalans are not playing with confidence and the internal problems have manifested themselves onto the field of play.
According to multiple reports, six-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi, isn’t happy at the Camp Nou. However, the team should be motivated by the fact that Real Madrid dropped vital points last week and they are at home to a very weak team.
Back Barca to make it four in a row on the (-1) Handicap.
Sociedad 17/20
Draw 26/10
Valencia 29/10
(19:30)
This is undoubtedly one of the most interesting ties this weekend. The team that loses here will probably be out of the top-four race with only a point separating these two teams between seventh and eighth.
This fixture has been clouded with draws and the visitors are not known sharing points.
The last two fixtures ended in a share of the spoils and I’m expecting these sides to cancel each other out once again.
Levante 5/1
Draw 38/10
Real Madrid 9/20
(22:00)
Zinedine Zidane took a very big gamble last weekend when starting Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale, who both just returned to training. The pair were unable to inspire Los Blancos and the team paid the price. Maybe the French coach was rushing them so they can be fit for the Champions League encounter against Man City next week.
Levante are a team that can beat Madrid and they will have memories of last season’s 2-1 win in mind. The first leg was a tight one which ended 3-2 in favour of Madrid.
I don’t see Madrid dropping points in consecutive games, so get on the 9/20.
Sunday 23 February
Osasuna 5/1
Draw 47/20
Granada 31/10
(13:00)
The Sunday fixtures kick-off with a clash of two of my favourite teams. Osasuna and Granada have been very impressive this season, with the teams sitting ninth and 11th on the table respectively. Only two points separate these two teams at mid-division.
This is a fixture that usually favours the home team, with the last three meetings being won by the hosting side.
Because of that, get on Osasuna to claim maximum points.
Alaves 19/10
Draw 37/20
Athletic Bilbao 17/10
(15:00)
This will probably the most less entertaining fixture of the round as two of the worst teams right now battle it out at the Estadio Mendizorroza.
Both teams are far from relegation and Europa League qualification, leaving this fixture with not much significance. Athletic Bilbao have been nothing but poor in the second half of the season and that has ruined everything good they did in the first half.
Back a draw here.
Valladolid 16/10
Draw 39/20
Espanyol 39/20
(17:00)
Valladolid have a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways when they host Espanyol after participating in the Europa League on Thursday. The visitors are rooted at the foot of the table with just 19 points after 24 matches.
At this rate, Espanyol will be relegated, unless something miraculous happens. The last time these sides met, Valladolid were 2-0 winners at the RCDE and I wouldn’t be surprised if this one finishes in a similar fashion.
Get on Valladolid at valuable 16/10.
Getafe 27/20
Draw 2/1
Sevilla 9/4
(19:30)
Getafe gave a good account of themselves against Barcelona at the Camp Nou and were very unlucky to go home empty-handed. They host a Sevilla team that’s struggling for consistency and a win here for the hosts will almost guarantee a top-four finish.
Prior to the Barca defeat, the hosts had won four in a row. This is a must-win for the hosts and I don’t see them messing it up.
Getafe are a banker here and should be included in all multiples.
Atletico Madrid 13/20
Draw 26/10
Villarreal 17/4
(22:00)
There are no signs of improvement from Atletico Madrid and this looks set to be their worst ever season under Diego Simeone. Even a top-four finish is not a certainty at this stage and that’s very disappointing for a team that has so much quality in their squad. The hosts continue to drop crucial points, making it difficult for themselves.
Villareal’s recent form sees them two points behind their struggling opponent and a win for the Yellow Submarine will mean they leapfrog Atleti. These sides played to a goalless draw in December and I’m not expecting a lot of goals here.
Back Under 2.5 Goals at 7/10.
TREBLE @ 9/1
Valladolid Win 16/10
Getafe Win 27/20
Atletico Madrid Vs Villarreal Under 2.5 Goals 7/10
