Borussia Dortmund will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s shock defeat to Freiburg when Hoffenheim come to town, while Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach lock horns on Sunday in what’s expected to be a high quality, fast paced encounter between two evenly balanced sides. RB Leipzig return to home soil following a comprehensive 3-0 win over bottom-of-the-barrel Schalke. Die Roten Bullen boast the tightest defence in the division, conceding just 17 times in 20 matches, having also kept four clean sheets from their last five games at the Red Bull Arena, which has become a fortress to Julian Nagelsmann’s troops. Augsburg are among the pack of teams precariously hovering above the relegation zone and it comes as no surprise seeing as the visitors have tasted five defeats in six Bundesliga clashes. Let’s kick off our weekend punting with Home to Win to Nil at even money on Friday night, a repeat of the previous two meetings.

Bayer Leverkusen got back to winning ways with an emphatic 5-2 victory over free-scoring Stuttgart that snapped the Werkself’s three-game losing streak. New-signing Demarai Gray made a dream start to life at his new club, scoring on debut in a 16-minute cameo appearance after joining Leverkusen from Leicester City. Mainz come into the clash off a 1-0 win over Union Berlin at the Opel Arena, however, the Carnival club have been poor on their travels, going winless in five matches. The hosts have won the previous six meetings between these opponents, keeping five clean sheets in the process which doesn’t bode well for Bo Svensson’s 17th-placed charges. Freiburg 15/10 (16:30)
Werder Bremen made the 117km trip to Arminia Bielefeld only for their match to be postponed due to snow which deemed the playing surface unsafe. The Green-Whites will now be well rested and raring to add to their recent upturn in form that seen Florian Kohfeldt’s side win three of the last five games across all competitions. Freiburg come into the clash full of confidence after causing the upset of the previous round of matches, ousting Borussia Dortmund by a 2-1 scoreline. The Breisgau Brazilians will be hoping to earn their first win at this stadium since 2016. Take these sides to cancel out each other at 24/10.

Hertha Berlin 22/10 (16:30)
Stuttgart found themselves on the losing side for the fourth time in five matches as the exciting newly-promoted club were thumped 5-2 in Leverkusen. The only positive the Reds could take from the encounter is Sasa Kalajdzic scoring his third goal in as many appearances. Hertha Berlin suffered a fourth straight loss last weekend, but will also look for positives - theirs being that Bayern Munich only inflicted a 1-0 defeat. Stuttgart will be aiming to do the double over Hertha after claiming maximum points in a 2-0 win in Berlin, however, I’m tipping these sides to settle for a share of the spoils at 51/20.
Borussia Dortmund 5/10

Hoffenheim 44/10 (16:30)
Borussia Dortmund return home to Signal Iduna Park following yet another dismal performance on the road, going down 2-1 to Freiburg. The Yellow and Black started the new year brightly with victories over high-flying RB Leipzig and Wolfsburg, but now find themselves in a slump of three defeats in four Bundesliga clashes and worryingly 16 points behind log-leaders Bayern Munich. Hoffenheim were put to the sword in a 3-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and desperately need to bounce back with the likes of Augsburg, Cologne, Hertha Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld edging closer to the “Kraichgauer” in the standings, every time Sebastian Hoeneb’s side fail. With Dortmund winning just once in six previous meetings, my money is on Draw/Hoffenheim in the Double Chance market at 27/20.
Union Berlin 8/10

Schalke 7/2 (19:30)
Union Berlin will welcome the return to home soil after suffering three defeats on their travels. Although in Berlin, the “Iron Ones” are unbeaten in nine Bundesliga matches, including four wins and five stalemates. Schalke will try to dust themselves off following a 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig and claim their first away win from their 10th attempt. The home win seems a good bet, but I suggest backing the draw instead for the third straight meeting at 26/10.

Eintracht Frankfurt 11/20

Eintracht Frankfurt are enjoying a rich vein of form after accumulating 23 points from the last 27 on offer that has the Eagles soaring up the Bundesliga table, in fourth position. Frankfurt have won seven times in nine games, scoring 25 goals in the process with all the forwards at the club putting the ball in the net for fun. Coach Adi Hutter has a selection headache on his hands that any manager would envy. Cologne got the better of UEFA Champions League participants Borussia Monchengladbach in a 2-1 win away at Borussia Park. That victory meant that the Billy Goats have now won three of their last four league games as they continue their fight to avoid the drop zone. Home to Score in Both Halves is my play at 12/10.
Wolfsburg 14/10

Borussia Monchengladbach 7/4 (19:00)
Wolfsburg continued their stellar form with another professional performance by coming away from Augsburg with a 2-0 victory. The Wolves have claimed maximum points in four straight games without conceding a single goal and will now set their sights on closing the three-point deficit separating themselves from second-placed RB Leipzig. Borussia Monchengladbach, on the other hand, will look at this match as an opportunity to take points off a direct rival and cut Wolfsburg’s six-point margin over them. The Foals come off a disappointing 2-1 loss to Cologne, their first since the turn of the year and will be raring to bounce back against the in-form hosts. Let’s not try to be overly fancy with our exotics – Over 2.5 Goals at 7/10 is well worth a punt.

Arminia Bielefeld 19/1 (21:30)
Bayern Munich close out the round of matches on Monday against lowly Arminia Bielefeld. The Bavarians will return home from Qatar where they’ve flexed their muscles in the FIFA Club World Cup. Meanwhile, the visitors will be well rested after their match was postponed due to snow last weekend. However, the Blues are the lowest scorers in the division and stand little to no chance to penetrate Bayern’s defence. Home to Win to Nil is strongly recommended at 17/20.
