Neil Morrice brings you all of his best bets and tips for Monday's racing coming your way from Southwell, Plumpton and Kelso.
Race 5 No1 CADZAND (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton - Jockey: Harry Skelton
CADZAND reverts to novice company after finishing in mid-division behind Soaring Glory in the Betfair Handicap Hurdle at Newbury. He has to concede 6lb to the progressive Only The Bold, but against that meets his foe on 4lb better terms than if this were a handicap. A horse with a smart turn of foot, he should enjoy the move up to two and a half miles.
Race 7 No7 ANOTHER FRONTIER
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies - Jockey: Jordan Nailor
This stable is double-handed for the nightcap, and while Milanstorm cannot be ruled out, ANOTHER FRONTIER appeals as a horse on the wa6 back to form, having caught the eye when just out of the money at Huntingdon last time. That was a step up on two previous disappointments in testing conditions, and he should be in his element on this drying ground.
PLUMPTON
Race 2 No1 FAUSTINOVICK (Nap)
Trainer: Colin Tizzard - Jockey: Harry Cobden
Form figures of 2222 cast doubts over his desire to get the job done, but FAUSTINOVICK is going to enjoy the prevailing conditions more than Special Acceptance, most of whose form is in the mud. The selection has twice succumbed in photos but could be ridden from the front this time, with Forgot To Ask the one for the exacta.
Race 6 No10 MI LADDO
Trainer: Milton Harris - Jockey: Mitchell Bastyan
The grey MI LADDO comes off a successful all-weather campaign to revert to hurdling off what looks a workable mark. A change of scenery appears to have sparked extra life in him, and he can outpoint the likely market leader Darkest Day.
Race 1 No6 STORM NELSON (Nap)
Trainer: Sandy Thomson - Jockey: Ryan Mania
Although burdened with an 11lb hike in the weights for bolting up on debut for his trainer at Ayr, STORM NELSON should have further improvement in him. He benefitted from the fitting on a tongue tie to come home unchallenged, certainly wasn’t stopping and will enjoy the move up to this marathon distance.
Race 2 No6 PRINCESS AVERY
Trainer: Susan Corbett - Jockey: Sam Coltherd
PRINCESS AVERY popped up at 40-1 at Newcastle, and can now prove there was no fluke about the performance. The Yeats mare has few miles in the clock and can make it back-to-back victories for her small stable.
