Our football expert previews round 12 of the Italian Serie A which resumes on Friday the 9th of November 2018.
Is there any Serie A team capable of defeating Juventus? At the moment the defending champions are cruising, going unbeaten after 11 rounds of football. Inter Milan has certainly stepped up their game but it’s a matter of consistency.
Empoli, Frosinone and Chievo occupy the relegation zone with the latter remaining the only team in the league without a victory to their name.
Friday 9 November
Frosinone 38/10 | Draw 26/10 | Fiorentina 15/20
Newly-promoted Frosinone are second from bottom on the log with just one win from 11 matches. However, they have shown some excellent fighting spirit in recent weeks and remain unbeaten in three games with two draws, scoring six goals.
Fiorentina have played to three consecutive 1-1 draws and will be looking to go one better here and snatch maximum points. I’m expecting both sides to find the back of the net at 17/20.
Saturday 10 November
Torino 9/20 | Draw 34/10 | Parma 6/1
Torino are unbeaten in their last six matches and are off the back of an impressive 4-1 win away to Sampdoria. Parma have struggled in recent weeks, suffering two defeats from three games and failing to score a goal in either of those matchups.
The hosts have been in top form and I’m backing them to utilize home advantage. Back Torino on the (-1) Handicap at 23/20.
SPAL 31/20 | Draw 21/10 | Cagliari 19/10
SPAL have been in dreadful form with six losses from their last seven matches. Cagliari have lacked consistency thus far but should be up for the challenge after a decent showing at Juventus despite going down 3-1.
The Islanders won both meetings by a 2-0 scoreline last season. Another low-scoring affair is on the cards. Get on the Under 2.5 Goals market at 7/10.
Genoa 47/10 | Draw 33/10 | Napoli 11/20
Saturday’s final encounter will see Genoa play host to Napoli at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. The Griffin are winless in their last five matches, with back-to-back defeats – including a 5-0 thumping at the hands of Inter Milan last weekend.
Napoli have won three of their last four games, scoring 11 goals and conceding only twice. The away win is tipped.
Sunday 11 November
Atalanta 7/4 | Draw 47/20 | Inter Milan 15/10
Atalanta have been in brilliant form in recent weeks with three wins on the spin, scoring 10 goals and conceding only twice. Inter Milan have also been outstanding with seven straight victories and will be looking to build on that.
Four of the last six head-to-heads between these sides have seen under 2.5 goals scored.
I suggest you follow the trend and get on at 9/10.
Chievo 19/10 | Draw 2/1 | Bologna 16/10
Chievo have been utterly poor as they remain without a win this season, including nine losses from 11 games. Bologna have only registered two wins from their 11 matches and are winless in their last four games.
Both teams will be desperate to get their season back on track with a win but neither team has great attacking prowess or defensive quality. With that being said, the Under 2.5 Goals market looks ripe for the picking once more.
Roma 5/10 | Draw 34/10 | Sampdoria 52/10
Roma are coming off consecutive hard-fought 1-1 draws away to Napoli and Fiorentina and will be looking to utilize home advantage on Sunday. Sampdoria have been dismal of late with back-to-back losses and that doesn’t look likely to improve here.
The hosts will be eager to climb back into the top four, starting with a win over La Samp. Take Roma to claim all three points.
Empoli 5/4 | Draw 9/4 | Udinese 9/4
Empoli have managed just one win from 11 games and will be looking to pick themselves up after being thrashed 5-1 at Napoli last time out. Bologna are winless in their last four matches but will see this as a good opportunity to return to winning ways.
These sides will likely go for maximum points so there is likely to be goals here. Get on the Both Teams to Score – Yes – market at 8/10.
Sassuolo 28/10 | Draw 51/20 | Lazio 19/20
Following a run of four matches without a victory, Sassuolo bounced back to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 victory away to basement-dwellers Chievo. Lazio have been in great form with six wins from their last eight games.
The last 10 meetings have produced 38 goals at an average of 3.8 per game. With that being said, the Over 2.5 Goals market looks well worth a punt at 7/10.
AC Milan 32/10 | Draw 26/10 | Juventus 8/10
The match of the weekend sees Juventus travel to the San Siro Stadium to take on AC Milan. The hosts have been excellent with three wins in a row but the Old Lady have been a cut above the rest as they remain the only unbeaten team in the league.
Juve have won 10 of their 11 matches, scoring 24 goals and conceding eight times. They have won the last five meetings against AC Milan and are tipped to edge the win here.
