The second Round of the 2019 IRB Under 20 Championship takes place on Saturday the 8th of June. Darry Worthington previews the day's fixtures below.
A few statements were made on opening day with Australia, South Africa, Ireland and New Zealand racking up big wins. There were also some highly disappointing displays with both Argentina and England opening their campaigns with poor performances.

We kick matchday 2 off with a clash between the Junior Boks and Georgia. The two sides suffered contrasting opening rounds with South Africa beating Scotland 43-19 and Georgia going down 45-13 to the Junior All Blacks.
The South Africans were slightly flattered by the scoreline as a few late tries put a lot of gloss on what wasn't the most clinical of performances. Georgia, on the other hand, gave a better account of themselves than the scoreline would suggest as they frustrated the New Zealanders for large swathes of the game.
Verdict: Georgia (+18.5) 17/20 *Forecast handicap
Georgia tend to deliver on large plus handicaps and I'm backing them to do it again here.
Australia v Ireland

The game of the day is next up with two of the tournament favourites, Australia and Ireland, squaring off. Both teams got the tournament off to great starts with Ireland beating much-fancied England 26-42 and Australia beating Italy 36-12. The Australians could have actually whitewashed Italy but lax defending and ill-discipline saw Italy cross over for two late tries.
Verdict: Australia 11/10
I'm going for the Australians here. They look a mean side on defence and if they don't lose their concentration then they could well walk away with a vital victory here.
France v Wales

France and Wales clash in all Six Nations affair in the day's next offering. Both teams got their 2019 campaigns off to winning starts with France beating Fiji 36-20 and Wales registering an impressive 25-30 victory over hosts Argentina.
When the two sides met during this year's Junior Six Nations the French ran out 32-10 victors on home soil.
Verdict: Wales (+12.5) 17/20 *Forecast Handicap
Wales are a gritty side who should give the French a real fight here. I can see them keeping it within a rather large plus handicap.

Argentina will be looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to the Welsh when they take on an impressive Fijian outfit.
The hosts were actually the better team when they played the Welsh youngsters but ill-discipline and some rudimentary handling errors cost them an opening day win.
Fiji also looked rather good against the French and gave their opponents a real scare in the first stanza. Like Argentina, they were unable to round off good try-scoring chances with stray passes costing them a lot of points.

I'm expecting a big response from the hosts who need a bonus point win here to keep their hopes of a semi-final berth alive.

New Zealand will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they take on a plucky Scottish outfit. The Junior All Blacks were made to work hard for their 45-13 victory over Georgia, with a late flurry of tries adding a significant amount of gloss to the scoreline.
Scotland were unable to get their campaign off to a winning start as they went down 43-19 to South Africa. They were actually rather hard done by that scoreline as they were in the game until the final 15 minutes when a late blitz saw the South Africans pull away from them.
Verdict: New Zealand (-29.5) 17/20 *Forecast Odds
Although this is a big handicap, I still fancy the New Zealanders to clear it. They looked really good when they clicked into gear late in the piece against Georgia, and if they can start this game in a similar vein then they could well put a mammoth score over the 'Scots.

Our second all Six Nations affair of the day sees a wounded English side take on a limited Italian outfit. The English head into this one off the back of an extremely disappointing 26-42 defeat to the Irish. The game also saw the first red card of the tournament with reserve hooker Alfie Barbeary shown his marching orders for a horrific tackle.
Italy also had an opening day to forget as they went down 36-12 to Australia. Things could have actually been worse for the Italians as two late tries salvaged some pride for them.
Verdict: England (-29.5) 17/20 *Forecast Handicap
When the two sides met in this year's Junior Six Nations England ran out victors by 25 points. I'm expecting them to do slightly better here and win this one by more than 30.
