CAPTAIN CHORUS was slow into stride but moved up well to win a workriders event over six furlongs at this venue on debut. He attracted outside betting support that day which suggests that the win did not come as a surprise to the connections. The colt takes on stronger today and also a step up in trip, but he may be up to the task at hand. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena takes the ride.

Jockey: G Lerena - Trainer: J Janse van Vuuren
VISTULA returned to the Highveld after contesting a feature race over a mile at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Boxing Day. She is unbeaten from four starts on this track and if her travels have not taken too much out of her, she should be competitive here.
Race 7: CAPTAIN OF TORTUGA (5)
Jockey: G Lerena - Trainers: M/G Azzie
The Mike/Adam Azzie yard appear to have a strong hand in this race and could complete the exacta here. The slight preference goes to CAPTAIN OF TORTUGA. The gelding was staying on well in his last outing over 1475M and on that showing, he will enjoy going the extra distance here.
