Warren Kennedy was seen donning a Winning Form cap for the first time when he won his first race as a Winning Form sponsored jockey, when successful aboard Grande Maestro for trainer Darryl Moore in the fifth race at Hollywoodbets Greyville yesterday.

The horse went off at 5/1 with Hollywoodbets and was ridden to perfection by Kennedy, who sat just off the pace throughout the race which was over the mile. When they swung for home, Kennedy came to the outside on the 5-year-old Oratorio gelding and went on to win by just under half a length beating Perfectly Putt, which was the favourite in the race.
Kennedy, who has accumulated 133 winners so far, is aiming to beat Anthony Delpech’s record of 334 winners in one season. Kennedy is 37 winners ahead of second-placed Greg Cheyne and, bar any incidents, - looks set to win his first South African Jockey’s Championship.
