CRISSCROSS has his first run after an 8-week rest and for his new trainer. He is a speedy sort who may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages.
PRESTISSIMO returns from a 7 week break and also has his first run for his new conditioner. If fully settled into his new environment he should be involved in the finish here.
CATERHAM has his second run after a rest. He likes to race up with the pace and finished second last time out over 1170M.
KARTANUP has his first run after a lengthy 52 week break and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today. His last of two barrier trials were encouraging.
Race 2
BIG SHAKA has solid form to his credit and he finished second last time out over 1212M. He should be right up there when they hit the line.
ROYAL EQUIANO is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has cracked pole position and finished third last time out over 850M.
CARTLAND is a 4yr old filly who is having her first start for her new trainer. She finished third in her last outing over 800M in soft going.
FIRST BID was disappointing last time out, but won his penultimate start and should be competitive today.
Race 3
A small but competitive field faces the starter here. TRIAGE is a speedy sort who may prove difficult to peg back over the latter stages of this contest. THE MECHANIC returns from a 17 week rest and if not too much in need of the run, he could make his presence felt here. CHAMBERLAIN also likes to race up with the pace and should have an interesting duel with the top choice. BEL SELEVA is a 5yr old mare facing the boys, but will have 3kgs taken off her back courtesy of her claiming apprentice, which should improve her chances.
Race 4
LAYLA'S LAD is a 7 yr old gelding who does not seem to have lost his zest for competing. He has won three of his last four recent outings and looks to be the one that they all have to beat here.
PRINCE OF VENICE finished strongly last time out over six furlongs suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. In addition, he gets the services of a 3kg claiming apprentice.
TEN TAUBADA'S has his second run after a rest and did finish third over 1212M in his comeback outing.
NINE CIGARS finished third over 1650M last time out and should be a factor over this trip today.
Race 5
TELLOFF is a 5yr old mare who won a good race last time out over five furlongs and will be hoping to notch up a quick double today. Based on that last victory, this is very much on the cards.
SENKO SIDRA is a 4yr old filly who finished third in her last outing over five furlongs and will be aided by having 3kgs removed from her allocated weight, thanks to her claiming apprentice. MAGIC
PANTHER has drawn the widest of them all, but he should use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.
TRUMPFUL is a speedy sort who is sure to enjoy the drop-down in distance from his last outing over six furlongs.
Race 6
WILD ELEMENT has good c&d form to his name, having recorded two wins from six attempts here, including a last start victory over 1090M.
COBB 'N' CO returns from a 14-week rest and has his first outing for his new trainer. If fully acclimatized with his new environment, he should be considered for all bets.
LUCKY MACHU returns from a lengthy 46-week break, but he will in all likelihood be doing his best work late and could trouble the top two selections.
MELLORE is a 7yr old mare who did not go on with her effort last time out over six furlongs and should enjoy the drop back in trip today.
