Big fields are the order of the day on this eight race card and a maiden contest which features majority three-year olds kicks off proceedings.
CAPTAINS MOLL showed decent potential last season and she had excuses for her last flop in a feature on July day. She finished runner-up in her two prior sprints on this track, her debut of which was against winners. The daughter of Captain Al would have strengthened during her ten week absence and she should go very close on her seasonal debut. She could be worth following.

The evergreen bay mare
JET INTOMBI enjoyed a great last season in this province, culminating with a fair 4th in a staying feature over 2400m at Greyville despite not striding out. She was well beaten that day but only finished three parts of a length behind the runner-up and half a length adrift of the 3rd placed entrant, Grey Light, who of course has won twice since. The daughter of Jet Master drops heavily in class on her seasonal debut and she should take a power of beating for her 2.5kgs claiming regular pilot. She is her stable's only representative on the card.

HUMIDOR had a highly creditable feature effort over the mile towards the end of last season and he still has plenty more to offer this term. He does seem most likely a sprinter though and his excellent c & d record bears testament to that. The five-year old gelding had issues but he still kept going to beat subsequent winner
GREAT EXPECTATIONS over this c & d in his penultimate run. He meets the lightly raced latter on 1kg better terms and is again the one to beat.

The bay mare
MIDANSWER had excuses for her last flop against male rivals on the polytrack but she will be an entirely different proposition today. She showed her true worth as she thrashed a smart speedst- er over this c & d in her penultimate run. She has the beating of the 'older guard' and should give the three-year-olds plenty to think about.

This is a tricky graduation plate and the ratings may not necessarily be the best guide.
UNBELIEVABLE CHAD is slightly out at the weights on official ratings but he still has improvement in him, particularly as he only raced once since being gelded. The son of Toreador should now fulfill his earlier potential and he badly needed his comeback run in a competitive sprint, ten days ago. The obvious concerns are his wide draw and whether he has recovered in such a short space of time. Nevertheless, the four-year old bay was an impressive c & d maiden winner and he gets the narrow first verdict.
