The Greeff inmate was well timed when he kept going to beat TITUS over this c & d on his first track attempt that day and he may have escaped with the minimum penalty. He is 1kg worse off with the consistent veteran gelding but has more to offer and gets the verdict.

The day's topliner is a highly competitive handicap that features just seven runners and the True Master formline could pay to follow. GIMME THE STARS ran on strongly for a close 2nd in his first attempt beyond a mile that day and the smart four-year old holds strong claims over this more suitable distance. He has a solid c & d record and can certainly go one better.

TIME TRIPPER quickly bounced back to form when she finished strongly for a close 3rd at novice level over this c & d five weeks ago. She had subsequent winner LEIA ORGANA nearly four lengths behind her that day and is 2.5kgs to the good. The bay filly represents an in-form combination and she should go very close to winning this low-key fillies and mares handicap.

TURBO was understandably rested after a disappointing last c & d showing but the four pound drop in his merit rating should help the Pathfork gelding get his career best on track. Of course the Gavin Smith inmate showed much promise last campaign and he acquitted himself well when placed 3rd in a top feature field over this c & d in March. The four-year old drops considerably in class and is certain to be aided by a 4kgs apprentice allowance.
