Orlando Pirates will be looking for a fourth win in five league games when they take on Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City on Wednesday night.
The match at the Cape Town Stadium is set for a 7:30pm kick off and is the second time the two teams meet this season, Pirates having recorded a 1-0 home victory back in September.
A run of outstanding form of late has seen the Buccaneers up to third spot on the table, just five points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, with head coach Milutin Sredojevic's team having recorded convincing victories over Platinum Stars, Sundowns and Baroka FC.
The Soweto giants have also done some good business in the transfer window, signing midfield creator Xolani Mlambo from Bidvest Wits as well as highly-rated Zambian Footballer of the Year Augustine Mulenga. Mulenga is not expected to arrive at his new club until next week.
Sredojevic was pleased the response he got from his men in the 2-0 weekend win over Dikwena, and also spoke of the camaraderie in the Bucs camp.
"We were playing as per the instructions," he said. "We opened the game at the right time. The second goal practically killed off the game.
"We are having good spirit. We love each other we love the jersey. We want to do anything for this team.
"The first platform is to have good spirit. The celebration was like in basketball where we were beating each other with the chest. So it's our way of celebrating and showing that we are in good track," the Serbian added.
Ajax are currently in the relegation zone, second from last and three points adrift of safety.
Former Pirates head coach Muhsin Ertugral is now at the helm for the Urban Warriors and the Turk will no doubt be looking to fire up his players for what should be an absorbing game against his former employers.
The Cape side have lost four and won only one of their last six league outings, although they have bolstered their squad in the January transfer window with a host of signings in Samuel Julies, Gerald Takwara, Siyanda Zwane, Fagrie Lakay, Yannick Zakri and Tendai Ndoro.
Takwara is however suspended while Ndoro's eligibility is currently in question and the former Pirates striker did not play in Ajax's last match, a 0-0 draw against Free State Stars.
