Our football expert previews round 11 of the Italian Serie A which resumes on Friday the 2nd of November 2018.
As we head into the penultimate month of the year, Juventus are at the summit of the Serie A, six points clear of the pack. The Old Lady are the only unbeaten team in the league after 10 rounds of football and it might be early days but it looks as though the Scudetto will remain in Turin with Juve. Let’s get to this weekend’s action.
Friday 2 November
Napoli 1/4
Draw 47/10
Empoli 9/1
Roma held Napoli to a 1-1 draw last time out and the Azzurri will be determined to get back to winning ways. And what better way to do that than with a home game against Empoli. The Blues are placed 18th on the standings with just one win from 10 matches.
Napoli are unbeaten at home with four wins from five games, while Empoli are winless on the road. Back the hosts to win on the (-1) Handicap at 7/10.
Saturday 3 November
Inter Milan 4/10
Draw 38/10
Genoa 13/2
Inter Milan have been in brilliant form with six consecutive victories, scoring 11 goals and conceding just twice. Genoa are without a win in their last three games and have lost the last five meetings away to Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri have been the best defensively, conceding just six goals. With that being said, I’m taking Inter Milan to Win to Nil at 12/10.
Fiorentina 33/20
Draw 5/2
Roma 31/20
Fiorentina have been poor in recent weeks with just one win from five matches. The Viola have actually been depending on their excellent home form as they remain unbeaten with four wins from five games, scoring 13 goals and conceding only twice.
Roma earned a valuable point last time out, holding Napoli to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio San Paolo. As good as Fiorentina has been at home, Roma were organised and great tactically and should they get it right on Saturday, they should be able to see off the Viola. The away team is tipped.
Juventus 2/11
Draw 57/10
Cagliari 14/1
Defending champions Juventus are undefeated with nine wins from 10 games, scoring 21 goals and conceding just seven times. Cagliari have lost three of their five matches, scoring only twice in the process.
Juventus have won seven of the last eight head-to-heads against Cagliari and look a sure bet to add to that. Take the Old Lady to win Half-time/Full-time at 11/20.
Sunday 4 November
Lazio 7/20
Draw 4/1
SPAL 7/1
Lazio have struggled to maintain consistency with six wins and four losses from 10 matches. SPAL have been dismal with five losses from their last six games but did manage a 2-0 win over Roma in their last away match.
The home team will be desperate to get back to winning ways, while SPAL will be hoping not to suffer another defeat.
The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 6/10.
Chievo 26/10
Draw 47/20
Sassuolo 21/20
Chievo can be found at the foot of the table without a victory and eight defeats from 10 matches, scoring eight goals and conceding 26 times. Sassuolo have been below par at best but they should do enough to see off their opponents.
I highly doubt there will be too many goals scored here with Chievo finding the back of the net just three times at home and Sassuolo scoring only five on the road. The away win is tipped.
Parma 9/10
Draw 24/10
Frosinone 3/1
Parma have suffered two losses on the bounce, conceding five goals without scoring. Frosinone are placed second from bottom of the log with just one win from 10 matches, scoring nine goals and conceding 24 times.
However, the Canaries are coming off a 3-0 win away to SPAL and should at least find the back of the net against Parma. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is tipped at 8/10.
Sampdoria 31/20
Draw 9/4
Torino 7/4
Just one point separates Sampdoria and Torino heading into Sunday’s contest. The hosts are off the back of a 3-2 defeat at AC Milan but can hold their heads high after giving it their all and pushing the Serie A giants till the final whistle.
Torino are unbeaten in their last five matches but have drawn three of those games. Sampdoria are tipped to make home advantage count.
Bologna 36/10
Draw 26/10
Atalanta 15/20
Bologna are just three points above the drop zone and face a tricky test against Atalanta on Sunday evening. The hosts have scored only eight goals in 10 matches and desperately need to find their scoring boots.
Atalanta have won back-to-back games, scoring eight goals and conceding just once. La Dea have won the last five meetings against their opponents and are tipped to build on that.
Udinese 3/1
Draw 5/2
AC Milan 9/10
Udinese are without a win in their last five matches with four defeats. AC Milan have won three of their last four games and will be looking to maintain that form.
Six of the last seven meetings have seen both sides find the back of the net. That’s a good enough stat for me to take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 17/20.
TREBLE TIPPED @ 8/1
Napoli (-1) Handicap 7/10
Sampdoria Win 31/20
Sassuolo Win 21/20
