Our football expert previews round 25 of the Italian Serie A which resumes on Friday the 22nd of February 2019.
I’m sorry to say but this title race is all but over! Juventus are 13 points clear of next best Napoli who are struggling to give the Old Lady a genuine title-challenge.
The Serie A might have stronger teams but it’s starting to become a replica of the French Ligue 1 or German Bundesliga for that matter. Before we get off track, let’s leave those politics for another day and get down to business.
Friday 22 February
AC Milan 7/20
Draw 4/1
Empoli 15/2
AC Milan are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, including two wins on the bounce in the league, scoring six goals and conceding just once. Empoli ended a winless run of eight matches with a 3-0 home win over Sassuolo last time out.
That win would have been a great confidence boost for the Azzurri who are fighting for survival at the bottom half of the table. With that being said, I feel Empoli have more to play for and should give the Rossoneri a run for their money. I’m going for Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 21/20.
Saturday 23 February
Torino 43/20
Draw 23/10
Atalanta 13/10
Torino are unbeaten in their last four matches, including a solid goalless draw at second place Napoli last weekend. Atalanta were ousted on home soil, going down 3-1 to AC Milan, ending a run of three consecutive wins.
The last 11 meetings between these sides have produced 19 goals at an average of 1.72 per game. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market looks a good bet at 15/20.
Frosinone 52/10
Draw 36/10
Roma 9/20
Frosinone have been dreadful on home soil as they are yet to win a match, scoring just six goals and conceding 22 times. Roma are unbeaten in their last seven league games, including five wins and two draws.
Since I can’t see the relegation-battlers getting anything from this game, I’m going to look for more value in the away win. Take Roma on the Half-time/Full-time win at 21/20.
Sunday 24 February
Sampdoria 17/20
Draw 49/20
Cagliari 34/10
Sampdoria have been dismal in recent weeks with three losses on the spin, scoring once and conceding six times. Cagliari ended a winless run of six games with a hard-earned 2-1 home win over Parma last weekend.
However, their away form leaves a lot to be desired with just one victory from 12 travels. This one might just come down to the wire but I’m backing Sampdoria to utilize home advantage and edge the win.
Chievo 43/20
Draw 21/10
Genoa 14/10
Genoa are undefeated in their last four games, including an impressive surprise 2-1 victory over Lazio. The Rossoblu won the reverse tie 2-0 and will be looking to pull the double over their opponents.
Back Genoa to claim maximum points.
Bologna 57/10
Draw 32/10
Juventus 5/10
Let’s keep this one short and sweet. Bologna are fighting relegation and have registered just three wins from 24 matches. Juventus are unbeaten with 21 wins from 24 games. At 5/10, the Old Lady is a banker bet and should be added to all multiples.
Sassuolo 21/20
Draw 23/10
SPAL 28/10
Sassuolo have been dismal of late with back-to-back defeats, conceding six goals without a reply. SPAL have been just as poor and with both teams leaking goals, I’m expecting them both to see this as an opportunity to snatch and grab all three points.
Goals look a given here so I’m going to make sure I don’t miss out. The Both Teams to Score – Yes – market looks ripe for the taking at 9/10.
Parma 57/10
Draw 32/10
Napoli 5/10
Parma are without a win in their last four matches, including three defeats in the process. Napoli are unbeaten in their last six league games but have struggled to find a winning formula in recent weeks.
However, the hosts are also winless on home soil with three consecutive defeats. The Azzurri won the corresponding tie 3-0 and are tipped to come away with the win here.
Fiorentina 19/10
Draw 9/4
Inter Milan 29/20
And finally, Fiorentina and Inter Milan will round off proceedings at the Stadio Artemio Franchi with the hosts unbeaten in their last six league games. Inter Milan made it back-to-back wins
last weekend with a 2-1 home victory over Sampdoria.
The last seven meetings between these sides have produced 31 goals at an average of 4.4 per game. It’s a no brainer! The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is the way to go at 19/20.
TREBLE TIPPED @ 5/1
Roma HT-FT Win 21/20
Juventus Win 5/10
Fiorentina vs Inter Milan Over 2.5 Goals 19/20
