SIMBA SC imeendeleza wimbi la ushindi katika Ligi Kuu ya Tanzania Bara baada ya kuichapa Azam FC 3-1 jioni ya leo Uwanja wa Taifa mjini Dar es Salaam.
Kwa ushindi huo, Wekundu wa Msimbazi wanafikisha pointi 45 baada ya kucheza mechi 18, ikiendelea kushika nafasi ya tatu, nyuma ya Azam FC inayobaki na pointi zake 50 baada ya kucheza mechi 25, huku Yanga SC ikiendelea kuongoza Ligi Kuu kwa pointi zake 61 za mechi 25 pia.
Katika mchezo wa leo, mshambuliaji wa kimataifa wa Rwanda mwenye asili ya Uganda, Meddie Kagere alianza kuifungia Simba SC dakika ya tano tu kwa kichwa akimalizia mpira uliorudi baada ya kugonga mwamba kufuatia shuti la Nahodha na mshambuliaji mwenzake, John Raphael Bocco ‘Adebayor’.
Bocco naye akaiadhibu timu yake ya zamani kwa kuifungia Simba SC bao la pili dakika ya 39 kwa kichwa akimalizia krosi ya beki Zana Coulibally kutoka Burkina Faso aliyeanzishiwa kona fupi na mshambuliaji Mganda, Emmanuel Okwi upande wa kulia.
Kagere tena dakika ya 77 akaifungia Simba SC bao la tatu kwa mguu wake wa kulia akimalizia pasi ya Mzambia, Clatous Chama aliyepokea pasi ya kiungo mwenzake, Muzamil Yassin ambaye ndiye kwanza alikuwa ameingia uwanjani kuchukua nafasi ya Okwi aliyeumia.
Dakika ya 81 Frank Domayo aliyetokea benchi akaifungia Azam FC bao la kufutia machozi baada ya pasi ya mshambuliaji Mzimbabwe, Donald Ngoma kwa shuti kali lililogonga mwamba wa juu na kudondokea ndani ya mstari kabla ya mpira kurudi uwanjani, lakini refa Heri Sasii akawa makini na kuamuru uwekwe kati.
Sasii akakataa bao lililofungwa na beki Aggrey Morris dakika ya 85 akimalizia mpira wa adhabu uliopigwa na beki Mzimbabwe, Bruce Kangwa kwa sababu alitumia mabega ya Kagere kuurukia mpira kupigwa kichwa kufunga.
Kwa ujumla Simba SC inayofundishwa na kocha Mbelgiji, Patrick Aussems iliizidi uwezo Azam FC ya kocha Mholanzi, Hans van der Pluijm leo na kuendelea kudhihirisha ubora wake unaowafanya wapewe nafasi kubwa ya kutetea ubingwa wao.
