SIMBA SC imeendeleza wimbi la ushindi katika Ligi Kuu ya Tanzania Bara baada ya kuwachapa wenyeji, Lipuli FC 3-1 katika mchezo uliofanyika Uwanja wa Samora mjini Iringa.
Kwa ushindi huo, Simba SC inafikisha pointi 48 baada ya kucheza mechi 19, sasa ikizidiwa pointi mbili tu na Azam FC inayoshika nafasi ya pili kwa pointi zake 50 za mechi 25, wakati Yanga SC inaendelea kuongoza kwa pointi zake 61 za mechi 25.
Hadi mapumziko, Simba SC walikuwa mbele kwa 2-1 mabao yake yote yakifungwa na kiungo Mzambia, Clatous Chama huku bao pekee la Lipuli FC likifungwa na mshambuliaji wake Paul Nonga.
Chama aliifungia bao la kwanza Simba SC dakika ya tano akimalizia pasi nzuri ya beki wa kushoto, Mohammed Hussein ‘Tshabalala’ aliyenzishiwa mpira wa adhabu na mshambuliaji Mganda, Emmanuel Okwi.
Mchezaji wa zamani wa Yanga, Paul Nonga akaifungia bao la kusawazisha Lipuli FC dakika ya 18 kwa shuti kali akiwa ndani ya boksi akimalizia pasi ya Daruwesh Saliboko.

Simba SC iliendelea kupeleka mashambulizi langoni mwa Lipuli, lakini wakaishia kupoteza nafasi mbili nzuri walizotengeneza.
