Our football analyst previews the Italian Serie A week 38 action which kicks off on Saturday 25 May 2019.
The final round of the 2018/19 Serie A season is upon us. Juventus may have been crowned champions of Italy yet again but the race for the top four as well as the relegation battle, is not yet over. An exciting and entertaining gameweek 38 awaits, so let’s get to it!
Saturday 25 May
Frosinone 27/20

Chievo 7/4
This contest has absolutely no ramifications on the relegation battle or the standings for that matter. Frosinone are a certainty to finish in 19th place, while Chievo are rooted to the bottom of the table on just 16 points. All they would be playing for is pride and by the looks of things, neither club have much pride to play for anyway.
Goals have come far and few for both sides this season and with that being said, the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market offers plenty of value at 31/20.

Napoli 21/20
Bologna are coming off a hard-fought 3-3 draw away to Lazio. They have been brilliant on home soil in recent weeks with five straight wins, scoring 15 goals and conceding just three times. However, Napoli have been in top form with four victories on the trot.
Both sides will be looking to end the season on a winning note, so expect an end-to-end game of action-packed football.

Lazio 19/10
Torino were thrashed 4-1 at Empoli last time out, ending an unbeaten run of eight matches. They have won three of their last four games at home, including back-to-back wins and will be looking to add to that on Sunday.
Lazio have been inconsistent to say the least but their form on the road has been impressive in recent weeks with four wins on the spin in all competitions.
Take Lazio on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 11/20.
Sampdoria 28/10

Juventus 9/10
Sampdoria have been dismal in recent weeks with five losses from their last eight matches, including a winless run of five games. Juventus – since being crowned champions of Italy – are without a victory in their last four matches but will look to end off the campaign on a positive note.
The Old Lady has won seven of the last eight meetings against La Samp and should build on that here.
The champions are tipped to come away with maximum points.
Cagliari 14/10

Udinese 7/4
13th-placed Cagliari are without a win in their last four matches, including three defeats. They are safe from relegation by a mere point and could potentially climb into the top 10 with a win.
Udinese have been excellent of late with back-to-back wins and will need at least a point here to ensure their safety. Another entertaining game is on the cards with goals looking a certainty at this point.
The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 13/20.
SPAL 47/10

AC Milan 11/20
SPAL have been poor of late with two defeats on the bounce. A win could give them a spot in the top 10 but a victory against AC Milan is easier said than done. The Rossoneri have won three in a row, scoring five goals and conceding just once.
AC Milan need nothing less than three points in order to stand a chance of claiming a place in the top four and I think they have the ability and momentum to do just that.
The away win is tipped.
Fiorentina 31/20

Genoa 26/10
Fiorentina have been absolutely dreadful as they remain without a win since 17 February 2019, a winless run of 15 matches in all competitions, including six consecutive defeats. Genoa face the axe if they fail to come away with maximum points.
The Rossoblu have also been in terrible form as they are without a win in nine games. However, they have more at stake and should show some fighting spirit.
Back Genoa to edge the win at a valuable 26/10!
Atalanta 1/4

Sassuolo 19/2
Atalanta need a victory to ensure third place. Anything less could potentially see them drop out of the top four. Sassuolo have managed just four wins from 18 games on their travels and are winless in their last three matches. La Dea have won the last four meetings against Sassuolo, including a 6-2 thrashing in the reverse tie.
Take Atalanta on the (-1) Handicap at 6/10.

Parma 11/1
Roma’s chance of making top four are slim to none. However, they know they have to go out on Sunday evening and give it their all. They need goals, luck and a solid performance overall. It’s asking for a lot but crazier things have happened.
Parma ended a winless run of nine matches last time out with a hard-earned 1-0 home win over Fiorentina. That victory also put them in the clear with top flight football guaranteed for the 2019-20 season. However, Roma have won their last three home games, scoring six goals without shipping any, including a 2-0 win over Juventus. Back the home team on the Half-time/Full-time win at 6/10.
Inter Milan 4/10
Draw 39/10
Empoli 6/1
Inter Milan have put their place in the top four in jeopardy with just one lousy win from their last five games. Empoli remain in danger of relegation but their remarkable fight for survival has been incredible with three wins on the spin, including a 4-1 thumping of Torino on home soil last time out.
This might be a bit of a left-field call for most but Empoli are buzzing and look more than capable of grinding out a win at the San Siro. The Azzurri offer top value to claim maximum points at 6/1!
