Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Friday's racing coming your way from Chepstow, Haydock Park, Hamilton Park, and Wolverhampton.
CHEPSTOW
Race 2: No7 - STREAM
Trainer: Archie Watson - Jockey: Adam McNamara
By Frankel out of a Captain Rio mare,
STREAM gets a new pilot in a bid to make it third time lucky. She’s been unfortunate to run into a couple on tartars on her two starts at Goodwood and Ripon but this looks more straightforward, and she’s now race tuned.
Race 4: No7 - DROMQUINNA (Nap)
Trainer: Alan King - Jockey: Martin Harley
King does well with his growing string of Flat horses and
DROMQUINNA can take out this maiden following an eye taking first effort when third on Polytrack. She was very easy to back that day but ran on into the money behind Undertake. The outing has brought her forward and she looks the best bet on the card.
Race 6: No1 - QUEEN OF SILCA
Trainer: Mick Channon - Jockey: George Bass
The penalty
QUEEN OF SILCA picked up for making it two from two this season at Haydock is negated by the claim of the useful Bass who has ridden the daughter of Kingman at home. There’s not much of this filly but she’s very professional and very hard to oppose in current form.
HAYDOCK PARK
Race 5: No8 - WILLIAM BLIGH (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett - Jockey: Harry Bentley
Some of the big stables are represented in this novice stakes but
WILLIAM BLIGH has the points on the board with two outings under his belt. He shaped deceptively well when out of the money on debut at Kempton and stepped up accordingly to give Master Of The Sea a good race at Newmarket, over this seven furlongs trip. The son of rookie sire Territories is now ready to open his account.
Race 7: No2 - DERDAS
Trainer: Owen Burrows - Jockey: Dane O’Neill
DERDAS troubled the judge on both juvenile starts in France, at Chantilly. With his liking for cut in the ground, he could be heading to the right part of England for this three-year-old debut, and the Exceed And Excel gelding can give newcomer American Entente plenty to think about.
Race 9: No9 - DANCING APPROACH
Trainer: Roger Charlton - Jockey: Thomas Greatrex
A switch to turf brought about dramatic improvement in
DANCING APPROACH, who enjoyed the slightly easy conditions to win by a wide margin here last month. That followed four outings on the all-weather and suggests the daughter of Camelot is worth following returned to the scene of her triumph, and getting weight from the majority of the field.
HAMILTON PARK
Race 3: No3 - FORBIDDEN BEAUTY
Trainer: Richard Fahey - Jockey: Paddy Mathers
FORBIDDEN BEAUTY scored with plenty in hand on debut at Ripon and can remain unbeaten, running under a penalty. Several in the race are bidding to step up on earning runs but the selection scored with something to spare and has the points on the board.
Race 4: No2 - ETERNAL BLUSH
Trainer: David O’Meara - Jockey: D Nolan
ETERNAL BLUSH is bred to be quick, being by No Nay Never out of a Kyllachy mare. She popped up as a 22-1 roughie on debut at Thirsk but there appeared to be no fluke about the victory. She’s shown she handles grass and has to be taken very seriously.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 1: No1 - AL SALT
Trainer: William Haggas - Jockey: Jim Crowley
AL SALT should be a class apart from his foes if the bare facts of his comeback success at Newcastle is accurate. The runner-up Tilsit returned to that course to win by a country mile and there will have to be something special lurking in the race to trouble the favourite.
Race 3: No6 - STREET POET
Trainer: Michael Herrington - Jockey: James Sullivan
Effective over a series of distances at this track,
STREET POET was last seen in winning form before the lockdown racing over a longer trip, while his versatility was mirrored in a previous effort to run second here over today’s distance. Herrington does well with the sprinters/milers he gets from other yards and this fellow is ready to win again.
Race 8: No1 - GALATA BRIDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute - Jockey: Jim Crowley
This is a good opportunity for
GALATA BRIDGE to put his best foot forward. He went well with an in-form stablemate in some work on the Long Hill gallop and can endorse the promise of his comeback second at Newbury when chasing home Tuscan Gaze. He has to break from the outside stall but it shouldn’t matter over a mile and a half trip in which his pilot will have plenty of time to get him organised.
