Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Wednesday's racing taking place at Dundalk, Warwick, Ffos Las, Hexham and Kempton Park.
DUNDALK
Race 1: No1 - IRISH POSIEDON
Trainer: Matthew Smith - Jockey: Sam Ewing
IRISH POSEIDON went from gate to wire over course and distance last week and has transferred his good form from Germany onto Polytrack. For a horse that likes to lead he’s in the perfect post on the rail, and under the same capable 7lb apprentice has a good chance of staging a repeat. One that’s worth putting into the exotics is Stellify, who gained a deserved win at the Curragh after a series of near-misses, but needs to prove she likes this surface.
Race 4: No2 - PATCHOULI (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Hogan - Jockey: Joey Sheridan
PATCHOULI is yet to show she’s happy on an artificial surface, though there was marked improvement when switched to the Poly for a third run for her new handler last week. On that occasion, she finished just out of the money, beaten four and three-quarter lengths into fifth behind Jackmel. It’s an effort that can now be further improved upon by the daughter of Sixties Icon.
Race 6: No7 - MESSIDOR
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien - Jockey: Declan McDonagh
This is not the hottest fillies’ maiden and provides MESSIDOR with a gilt-edged opportunity. The daughter of Vadamos but in a whirlwind finish to claim third on debut at Leopardstown before hating the testing ground in the race won by A Case Of You at Dromore. It’s best to run your pen through that line of form and look to the favourite to open her account.
Race 7: No11 - VAZZY
Trainer: Noel Meade - Jockey: Leigh Roche
VAZZY looked to improve for a move into handicap company, giving him hopes of taking advantage of a lightweight in this nursery. The Tagula gelding showed little in two outings at Navan and another at Naas but claimed a minor cheque at Galway. If he takes to the surface he can get closer.
Race 8: No5 - STALINGRAD (Nap)
Trainer: Fozzy Stack - Jockey: Chris Hayes
STALINGRAD represents sire of the moment War Front and looks to have a fine chance of building on his second placing behind Shawaf over this course and distance last month. That was only a third career start for the colt, who can resist stern opposition from Grey Streak and Ola Bonita.
WARWICK
Race 1: No2 - CADZAND (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton - Jockey: Harry Skelton
This should involve a straight match between impressive Fakenham winner Twominutes Turkish and CADZAND. The latter receives a handy 6lb from his penalised rival and should have greatly benefitted from a pleasing comeback run at Ayr when second to Do Your Job. The selection had smart bumper form, and possibly should have won at this track last February when given plenty to do.
Race 6: No6 - STRONG PURSUIT
Trainer: Philip Hobbs - Jockey: Richard Johnson
In only nine starts for his trainer, STRONG PURSUIT boasts two wins over hurdles and one over fences and has run in some strongly contested handicaps. He’s not been the easiest to train and returns from an almost 11-month absence for this veterans’ chase. While his fitness has to be taken on trust, he remains a horse with potential for improvement.
FFOS LAS
Race 1: No9 - NADA TO PRADA (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Scudamore - Jockey: Brendan Powell
NADA TO PRADA will start a warm order for this maiden hurdle in which she should convert. She proved very useful in bumpers and finished second on debut over jumps at Hexham in a race that’s worked out well. Furthermore, as a mare she gets all the allowances, making her impossible to oppose.
Race 4: No4 - HILL SIXTEEN
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies - Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
On first run for a new stable,
HILL SIXTEEN is an attractive entity and can take out this handicap chase. He graduated through novice handicap chases to land the odds laid on him at Sedgefield and on a sole run in a full handicap followed home a decent yardstick in Fortified Bay at Newcastle. He’s adapted well to life at Grange Farm Stables and looks to have been found a good opportunity.

HEXHAM
Race 3: No1 - BLAZING PORT (Nap)
Trainer: Nick Alexander - Jockey: Grant Cockburn
The recent course form of BLAZING PORT gives him plenty of ammo to fire in a race that lacks strength in depth. The former bumper winner finished second on hurdles debut here, an effort that should give him the edge over Lanty Slea with this pair dominating the betting market.
Race 6: No15 - KILCARAGH BOY
Trainer: Richard Armson - Jockey: Phillip Armson
It took KILCRAGH BOY no fewer than 15 outings to open his account for this trainer, but the manner of his 66-1 course and distance triumph suggests it was no fluke. He was always travelling the best on first run for 300 days and may have turned the corner.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 3: No3 - ECHO BEACH (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer - Jockey: James Doyle
With three earning runs out of four stars, ECHO BEACH looks to hold the cards. He troubled the judge in novice events at Haydock and Chester and has a good draw from which to operate. He could easily know too much for his foes in what looks the weaker division of the median auction stakes.
Race 4: No3 - BAY BRIDGE
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute - Jockey: Ryan Moore
A wide draw might not prove such a disadvantage over the turning mile because all the main contenders are drawn high. Rebel’s Romance has a penalty for scoring at Newcastle while a market check seems the order of the day with newcomer Surefire. BAY BRIDGE was easy to back and ran green on debut at Yarmouth whilst showing promise to finish third to Marrakech Moon. The New Bay colt will be wiser and can open his account.
