There's another full round of PRO14 fixtures for rugby punters and fans to sink their teeth into. And while this round is rather underwhelming - there aren't too many stand out fixtures - there's still plenty of value on offer.
Treviso v Munster
Saturday 7 November
Stadio Comunale di Monigo
16:00
To Win (80 Mins)
Treviso 4/1
Draw 25/1
Munster 2/11
We start things off in Italy where winless Treviso will take on unbeaten Munster. The visitors currently sit at the foot of Conference B with only a point to their names after three fixtures. Their most recent defeat was a 3-10 loss to the Scarlets. Their Round 4 fixture was called off due to COVID concerns.
Munster have enjoyed a far more positive start to the 2020/21 season with the Irish province currently occupying top spot on Conference B. They head into Saturday's fixture off the back of an impressive 38-27 win over the Cardiff Blues.
Verdict: Munster (-)
Munster should win this one at a canter. They are in solid touch and have had no problems scoring tries this term.
Dragons v Connacht
Saturday 7 November
Rodney Parade
19:15
To Win (80 Mins)
Dragons 19/10
Draw 20/1
Connacht 9/20
Next up we head over to Wales for a cross-conference clash that will see the Dragons take on Connacht. The hosts have only won one of their four fixtures thus far with the victory coming against back in Round 2 where they beat struggling Italian outfit Zebre 26-18. They head into this one off the back of a 16-28 defeat to Connacht's fellow Irish province, Munster.
The Irish side have fared better than their opponents this term and have won two of the three games they have played this term, with the two victories coming against Scottish sides Edinburgh (26-37) and Glasgow 28-24.
Verdict: Connacht
I really fancy the Irish side to come good here. They put in a solid shift against Edinburgh last week and I'm expecting a similar effort here.
Ospreys v Leinster
Sunday 8 November
Liberty Stadium
17:00
To Win (80 Mins)
Ospreys 57/10
Draw 28/1
Leinster 1/10
We remain in Wales for our next fixture which will see the Ospreys tackle reigning champions Leinster. The Welsh side have been slightly hit and miss this term winning two of their four fixtures, with the wins coming over Edinburgh (10-25) and Glasgow (23-15) while their defeats came at the hands of Ulster (12-24) and a shock 23-17 defeat to Zebre last weekend.
Leinster have been absolutely flawless again this term winning their opening four games while racking up four bonus points, They head into Sunday's game with a staggering points differential of positive 110.
Verdict: Leinster
I reckon Leinster will rack up another big win here.
Scarlets v Zebre
Sunday 9 November
Parc Y Scarlets
19:15
To Win (80 Mins)
Scarlets 1/33
Draw 35/1
Zebre 19/2
We remain in Wales for our next fixture which sees the Scarlets play hosts to Italian side Zebre. Both teams have only won one of their four fixtures with the Scarlets win coming against Treviso in Round 3, while Zebre's first win came last weekend where they registered a shock 23-17 win over the Ospreys.
The Scarlets have managed to score more than 40 points and win all four of their last four meetings with Zebre with their last victory being a 54-10 win at the Parc Y Scarlets.
Verdict: Scarlets
While Zebre do head into this one off the back of a win, I still think they are in for a long old night this Sunday. My money is on the hosts running up a cricket score here.
Edinburgh v Cardiff Blues
Monday 9 November
Murrayfield
22:15
To Win (80 Mins)
Edinburgh 9/20
Draw 35/1
Blues 18/10
The penultimate game of the weekend will see Scottish outfit Edinburgh take on the Cardiff Blues at Murrayfield.
The hosts have endured a tough old start to the campaign and have only won one of their four fixtures with their victory coming against the Scarlets whom they grinded out a 3-6 win against. They suffered three defeats before that, going down to Connacht, Munster and the Ospreys.
The Blues have fared slightly better this term winning two of their four fixtures. They head into Monday's game having gone down 38-27 to Munster, however.
Verdict: Edinburgh
I'm backing the hosts to come good on home soil.
Ulster v Glasgow Warriors
Monday 9 November
Kingspan Stadium
22:15
To Win (80 Mins)
Ulster 7/20
Draw 20/1
Glasgow 49/20
Ulster and Glasgow ill bring a close to the Round 5 proceedings when they square off in a Scottish-Irish affair on Monday.
The Warriors have only one win from their four games with their defeats coming at the hands of Connacht, the Ospreys and Leinster with their latest being a 19-32 loss to the reigning champions.
Ulster have fared far better this term winning all four of their games. They head into Monday's fixture having beaten the Cardiff Blues 7-11 in Round 4.
Verdict: Ulster
I can only see one winner here and that is Ulster.
