He would have come on immensely from the experience and should go really close with his in-form jockey engaged. The son of Var is well drawn at gate 3. OUR EMPEROR is certainly on the up and though he was soundly thrashed by a proven stayer in a feature last time, he still finished comfortably ahead of some useful seasoned campaigners. The lightly raced four-year old completed impressive back-to-back wins when quickening smartly prior to that and he has plenty more scope for improvement. This shorter trip should be up his alley and the Dynasty gelding is favoured in a likely slow run affair where he can show that smart turn of foot.
