With the series leveled up at 1-1, India and New Zealand will battle for ascendancy at Green Park in Kanpur on Sunday 29 October.
A seesaw battle will conclude in Kanpur, where India are eager to wrap up a fourth consecutive ODI series victory since defeat in June's Champions Trophy final against Pakistan.
The New Zealanders, meanwhile, are determined to achieve their first ever bilateral ODI series triumph in India after five unsuccessful attempts.

India
The hosts were characteristically swift in bouncing back from defeat in Mumbai with success in Pune, where Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah dominated with the ball. The pair are being touted as the best seam pairing in India's ODI history - and would do well to put in another strong collective performance in arguably India's most pressurised fixture since the 2017 Champions Trophy final.
Former fast bowler Ajit Agar recently insisted Dinesh Karthik is a better option than Kedhar Jadav at four in the batting order. Karthik's opportunities to impress have been relatively punctuated, but he is quick to grab his chances. He'll certainly want to follow up Wednesday's unbeaten half-century with something similar - or better - to end the week.
Virat Kohli acknowledged the telling efforts of Trent Boult and company after the series opener - and the batsmen were thorough in their response a couple of days later. Boult and Tim Southee were rather ineffective against Shikhar Dhawan and Karthik in particular. The pair can again dictate proceedings.
India's spin combination will be intriguing. They were well set when wrist-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were bowling in tandem, but the choice to add Axar Patel to the mix ahead of Yadav worked well, too. Yadav, for now, will have to wait his turn, as Patel also brings something with the bat.
New Zealand
Entirely right in Mumbai, but largely wrong in Pune, the Black Caps have to find the right balance to pull off victory in Kanpur. They still seem a spin bowler light - and now is as good a time as any to draft in Ish Sodhi. While he might prove costly, he's a strike bowler - and wickets are in high demand.
Whether Tom Latham bats in the middle order and Colin Munro remains at the top is up for debate. Munro brings an explosiveness to the opening berth, but perhaps the cool, calm and collection offered by Latham is called for, especially with the attacking Martin Guptill at the other end.
Adam Milne bowled well in Pune, finding the right lines and lengths that Southee and Boult couldn't. Varying his pace will be key, with cutters and slower deliveries necessary on a deck that will probably be a bit two-paced. Regardless, it might be worthwhile giving Milne the new ball ahead of Southee.
New Zealand have never played the intermediate format of the international game at Sunday's venue, where India have won nine ODIs in 13 attempts. The home side's last ODI at Green Park resulted in defeat to South Africa, who were clever in taking the pace off the ball in a tight chase. The Kiwis need to take this example's lead.
Verdict: India 34/100
Masters of their craft and in their own backyard, India are well placed to secure a fourth consecutive ODI series win in as many months, despite their underdog opposition's best attempts to orchestrate a surprise.
