Our football expert gives insight into the English Premier League round 10 action which kicks off on Saturday 28 October 2017.
Gameweek 10 sees Manchester City five points clear at the summit of the table, with Manchester United and Tottenham – who will do battle at Old Trafford in Saturday's early kick-off – level on 20 points.
Week nine saw United beaten by newly-promoted Huddersfield and the week before that, Chelsea lost to bottom side Crystal Palace. Will there be more upsets on the cards this weekend?
Saturday 28 October
Manchester United 23/20 | Draw 23/10 | Tottenham 49/20
Manchester United face Tottenham in Saturday's early kick-off at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho’s side will look to respond to their shock defeat to promoted Huddersfield Town, but they’ll face a tough test against Mauricio Pochettino's men who put Liverpool to the sword in impressive style, winning 4-1 at Wembley.
Both teams are level on 20 points, United above on goal difference, and sitting five points behind league leaders Manchester City.
United were poor against Huddersfield last weekend, with Mourinho questioning the attitude of his players. On the other hand, Spurs looked really good against Liverpool and come into this game high on confidence. Mourinho’s side have been excellent at Old Trafford this season, but Pochettino's men have been equally impressive away from home.
I’m backing the teams to cancel each other out.

Arsenal 2/9 | Draw 52/10 | Swansea City 11/1
Arsenal returned to winning ways with a 5-2 triumph over Everton at Goodison Park last Sunday, their first on the road in the league this season. Arsene Wenger’s side will welcome the return to the Emirates Stadium where they’ve won all four of their matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding three times – keeping three clean sheets.
Swansea slumped to their fifth defeat of the campaign with a 2-1 home loss to managerless Leicester City last Saturday. The Gunners completed a league double over the Swans last season, winning 3-2 at the Emirates, before a thumping 4-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.
I’m going for Arsenal to win with a clean sheet at 8/10.
Crystal Palace 14/10 | Draw 9/4 | West Ham 39/20
This game is a must-win for both teams. Crystal Palace are in big trouble at the bottom of the table, four points adrift on Bournemouth in 19th palace and five points from safety.
West Ham will be desperate for a result after their 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton last Friday night. Slaven Bilic’s men are yet to win away from this season, picking up just two points from five matches.
The draw looks likely.
Liverpool 2/9 | Draw 52/10 | Huddersfield 11/1
Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their 4-1 thrashing by Tottenham at Wembley Stadium, which left them 12 points adrift in the title race. Jurgen Klopp's side have now conceded 16 goals – only four other sides have shipped more. The Reds can forget about climbing the table until they sort things out at the back.
Huddersfield come into this match high on confidence after pulling off a shocking 2-1 victory against Manchester United at the John Smith's Stadium. David Wagner’s side ended their seven-game run without a win in spectacular fashion, becoming the first team to beat Jose Mourinho’s side this season.
I’m going for Both Teams to Score at 11/10.
Watford 21/20 | Draw 47/20 | Stoke City 26/10
Watford were beaten 4-2 by defending champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday. The scoreline was incredibly harsh on Marco Silva's side as Brazilian attacker Richarlison missed two glorious chances to put the Hornets 4-1 up by the 53rd minute.
Watford will look to bounce back and make it back-to-back wins at Vicarage Road. They recorded a 2-1 home win over Arsenal last time out. Stoke suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Bournemouth last Saturday, their fifth defeat in their last six matches.
Mark Hughes’ men are yet to win away from home this season and I’m tipping the hosts to secure all three points.
West Brom 10/1 | Draw 52/10 | Manchester City 1/4
West Brom’s winless run stretched to eight matches after losing 1-0 at Southampton last Saturday. To make matters worse, Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson were forced to leave the pitch through injury. Tony Pulis' men will face a daunting test against Pep Guardiola's free-scoring Manchester City.
The Sky Blues are the only undefeated team in the league, winning eight of their nine matches, enjoying a five-point lead at the top of the table. City are unbeaten in their last 15 meetings against the Baggies, winning 14 times.
Take Guardiola's side on the (-1) Handicap at 6/10.
Bournemouth 17/4 | Draw 31/10 | Chelsea 6/10
Bournemouth recorded their first away win of the season by beating Stoke 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium last Saturday. The Cherries snapped a three-match winless streak and prevented a fifth straight defeat on the road.
Eddie Howe's side will be looking to move out of the drop zone but since they came up in the 2015/2016 season, Chelsea have always taken maximum points at the Vitality Stadium. Antonio Conte’s men came from behind to win 4-2 at home to Watford last Saturday to bring an end to their two-game losing streak in the league.
Back the champions to claim maximum points at 6/10.
Sunday 29 October
Brighton 47/20 | Draw 21/10 | Southampton 13/10
Brighton will be looking to build on the 3-0 triumph they recorded over West Ham at the London Stadium last Friday. That was their first away win of the campaign and Chris Hughton will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season. The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last three home matches, beating West Brom and Newcastle, before conceding a 90th-minute penalty to draw 1-1 against Everton.
Southampton snatched a late winner against West Brom last Saturday thanks to a stunning solo goal from Sofiane Boufal. The Saints have also failed to win two matches in a row this season and have drawn both meetings against newly-promoted teams Newcastle and Huddersfield.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s men haven’t impressed me and I’m going for Brighton on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 6/10.
Leicester City 11/10 | Draw 23/10 | Everton 51/20
Leicester caretaker boss Michael Appleton oversaw a 2-1 victory against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium to lift the club out of the relegation zone. That win – only their second of the season – ended a run of six league games without victory.
Everton slipped to 18th on the table with a 5-2 defeat by Arsenal at Goodison Park, with Idrissa Gueye sent off. That defeat extended the Toffees’ winless run to five games in all competitions and led to the sacking of Ronald Koeman. David Unsworth has been placed in temporary charge and he faces an uphill battle of getting Everton out of the drop zone.
The home win is the way to go.
Monday 30 October
Burnley 7/4 | Draw 43/20 | Newcastle 33/20
Burnley were thumped 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last Saturday. Prior to that game, Sean Dyche’s side were unbeaten in six matches, including draws against Tottenham and Liverpool. Newcastle beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last Saturday thanks to a late winner from Mikel Merino.
Rafael Benitez’s side had drawn back-to-back matches against Liverpool and Southampton, before seeing off the Eagles. The Magpies have won just once away from home this season, losing against fellow newly-promoted sides Huddersfield and Brighton.
The Clarets are tipped on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 9/20.
TREBLE @ 4/1
Watford Win 21/20
Man City (-1) Handicap 6/10
Chelsea Win 6/10
