Racing Metro will welcome Irish giants Munster to the U Arena on Sunday the 14th of January.
With Castres breathing down their necks, Racing 92 can ill-afford a slip up when they host Pool 4 leaders Munster at the impressive new U Arena on Sunday. Racing, winners in each of their last four matches in all competitions, can practically guarantee knockout football with a win here, while the Munstermen, having already qualified and will want to consolidate their status as Pool 4 winners.

Racing Metro 92
Les Ciel et Blanc were scintillating in their recent 58-6 annihilation of Clermont Auvergne. Considering how good their combination of pace, power and emphatic finishing was, one must question why they are unable of sustaining that level of intensity throughout a campaign. They really are a marvel to watch on their day.
Despite being without the services of the likes of Dan Carter, Juan Imhoff and Pat Lambie, the Parisian outfit seem to be peaking at just the right time. Indeed, it’s scary to think how good they could become in the coming months; let’s hope they can maintain this level of performance both domestically and in Europe for the duration of the season.
As good as Racing were against Clermont, however, it must be noted that the latter were poor in equal measure. Munster will offer a much sterner test to Jacky Lorenzetti’s charges, particularly coming off the back of their impressive 39-13 result over Connacht. Considering the Frenchmen went down 14-7 at Thomond Park earlier on in the campaign, a win this weekend would taste all the sweeter.

Johann van Graan’s Munster arrested a two-game losing streak to Irish opponents with their Pro14 win over Connacht on the weekend. Ahead of Sunday’s visit to Paris, the men from Limerick will need an even more brutal performance to confirm their standing as winners of Pool 4 and give themselves an even greater shot at reclaiming the title they last won in 2008.
As always, their loose forwards will have a big role in shutting down Racing’s dangermen. The likes of Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander need to combat the exuberant Leone Nakarawa and company if they are to steal a win, while Ian Keatley cannot afford to leave his kicking boots behind for this one; this will be a game decided by the smallest of margins and it may well come down to a battle of the boot.
Verdict: Racing 5/10
On the basis of their display against Clermont, Racing should manage a win to perhaps overtake their Irish opponents at the summit of Pool 4. Their sheer creative ingenuity may overwhelm a Munster side that has struggled at times this term.
