Our soccer analyst previews the German Bundesliga week 21 action which kicks off on Friday 8 February 2019.
Table-toppers Borussia Dortmund and defending champions Bayern Munich both dropped points in round 20, giving Monchengladbach just a glimmer of hope. There are still 14 gameweeks to go, so let’s take them one at a time and find out what’s good on the betting front!

Bayer Leverkusen 8/10
Following back-to-back victories, Mainz were thrashed 3-0 At Augsburg. They will look to get back to winning ways but a lack of consistency has been a major problem for them. Bayer Leverkusen will be buzzing with confidence after their 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich.
With five wins from their last seven games, Leverkusen will be looking to build on that momentum. However, the hosts should get a goal here so I suggest playing it safe and taking Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.

Borussia Dortmund 13/20

Hoffenheim 34/10
Saturday’s action starts with the log-leaders Dortmund taking on Hoffenheim. BVB were held to a 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt last time out but return to home soil where they remain unbeaten with nine wins from 10 matches.
Hoffenheim have managed just one win from their last 11 games and that doesn’t look likely to improve here. Back Dortmund to bag all three points.

Eintracht Frankfurt 32/10
Leipzig have been brilliant of late with two wins on the bounce, scoring seven goals without reply. Eintracht Frankfurt have drawn their last two matches, including a 1-1 stalemate at home against Borussia Dortmund.
The Red Bulls have won the last two meetings on home soil against Frankfurt and look well worth a punt to make it three on the spin. Back Leipzig for the win.
Monchengladbach 13/20

Hertha Berlin 39/10
Monchengladbach have won all nine of their home games, scoring 25 goals and conceding just three times. Hertha Berlin are coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg and have been dismal on their travels.
I can only see one winner here and at that price, it almost seems too good to be true. With that being said, I’m putting my money on the Borussians to make it 10 home wins in a row.
Hannover 23/20

Nuremburg 47/20
A bottom-of-the-table clash is on the cards when Hannover play host to Nuremburg on Saturday afternoon. The Reds have the worst home record in the league with seven losses from 10 games, scoring seven goals and conceding 18 times.
Nuremburg, on the other hand, and have diabolical on the road as they remain winless. Expect both sides to have a full go in this early relegation battle.
The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 17/20.
Freiburg 18/10

Wolfsburg 15/10
Freiburg have been poor this season with just five wins from 20 matches. Wolfsburg might be sixth on the standings but they have the third best away record in the league, winning six of their 10 games on their travels.
The Wolves have won the last four meetings at Schwarzwald-Stadion, scoring 10 goals and conceding just once. The away win looks a good value bet.
Bayern Munich 2/9

Schalke 10/1
Bayern Munich suffered another setback after going down 3-1 at Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. However, they will be hungry to get back on the winning wagon and Schalke stand in their way.
The Royal Blues are off the back of a 2-0 home defeat against Monchengladbach and have registered just two wins from 10 travels. Back the Bavarians on the Half-time/Full-time win at 6/10.
Sunday 10 February
Werder Bremen 8/10

Augsburg 31/10
Werder Bremen have managed just two wins from their last eight matches and have been dismal on their ground this season. Augsburg ended a run of three consecutive defeats with a convincing 3-0 victory over Mainz.
The last 10 meetings have produced 40 goals between these sides at an average of four per game. The Over 2.5 Goals market looks ripe for the picking at 13/20. Get on!
Dusseldorf 21/20

Stuttgart 5/2
Dusseldorf were solid defensively last time outplayed some effective counter-attacking football after holding Hoffenheim to a 1-1 draw. Stuttgart have travelled terribly with eight losses from 10 matches, scoring just seven goals and conceding 24 times.
The hosts have been showing some determination and fight of late and I’m expecting them to dominate proceedings. Dusseldorf are tipped to capitalize on home advantage.
