Exeter Best Bets
Race 5: COEUR BLIMEY (1)

Dual purpose horse
COEUR BLIMEY has been asked some very stiff questions in his career and when last seen a month ago contested the Welsh Champion Hurdle, finishing a creditable fourth to Monsieur Lecoq in that Ffos Las feature. Now he reverts to fences and finds himself in a winnable race that has cut up in his favour. He jumps fences well, and can outpoint Esprit Du Large.
Race 6: HALDON HILL (6)
Trainer: Victor Dartnall
Jockey: Ritchie McLernon
The aptly named
HALDON HILL is a course winner here and signed off the 2018/19 campaign by placing behind Dolphin Square over a slightly longer trip than today’s minimum. Interestingly the JP McManus-owned selection gained that win on his seasonal reappearance and I fancy history can repeat itself as his trainer reports him tuned up and ready to go.
Race 7: QUEENS CAVE (12)
Trainer: David Pipe
Jockey: Tom Scudamore
Front runner
QUEENS CAVE holds outstanding claims following an excellent run to chase home Silver Forever when reappearing in a warm race at Chepstow. That should have blown away any cobwebs and the lightly-raced six-year-old can go one better - the Chepstow form has been boosted by the winner, while there are no other committed pacesetters in the field.
Bangor-On-Dee Best Bets
Race 2: CHILLI FILLI (3)
Trainer: Henry Daly
Jockey: Tom O’Brien
On her first outing since finishing in the ruck in a handicap hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival
CHILLI FILLI can gain a popular win for her locally based trainer. She showed she is best when fresh by scoring over this course and last season’s reappearance, and while she hasn’t been without her issues she’s schooled proficiently for this switch to fences.
Race 4: SPRINGFIELD FOX (5)
Trainer: Tom George
Jockey: Hector Crouch
Unbeaten in three races between the flags,
SPRINGFIELD FOX is a fascinating recruit to racing under National Hunt Rules and worth chancing in this novices’ hurdle. The six-year-old built up a reputation in points and was odds-on when completing a hat-trick at Kilfeacle in January. He’s joined a top outfit and is sure to have been well tutored for his new role.
