Anthony Joshua has confirmed that he wants to fight Deontay Wilder in April at the Wembley Arena in April 2019.
Anthony Joshua is currently the unified world heavyweight champion and after Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder's draw, a lot of speculation was brought forward as to whether Joshua is really the best in the business.
Fury and Wilder have continued to take public shots at the current champ to entice him into a fight.
Joshua has successfully defended his titles seven times - and when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko for the vacant WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight titles in one of the greatest heavyweight fights in the modern era: Joshua knocked Klitschko down in the fifth round - before Ukrainian managed to fight his way back into the bout and knocked Joshua down in the sixth round with a hard right hand.
Joshua finally landed a series of blows to win by technical knockout in the 11th round, to announce himself as the best fighter in the boxing world.
Deontay Wilder wants to unify the division by fighting Anthony Joshua but Joshua will have to wait to fight the Wilder after the WBC sanctioned a direct re-match between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder after their recent bout in Los Angeles ended in a controversial draw.
Joshua clearly states that he wants to fight a champion and Wilder currently holds the WBC heavyweight title, and he is not interested in fighting Tyson Fury (who also beat Wladimir Klitschko by decision) as Fury currently doesn't have a belt after the heavyweight vacated his belts due to medical investigations and personal issues.
