The first round of matches are over and onto Matchday four we go! Just three teams boast a 100 percent record, namely Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Could the 2019/20 winner come from one of these three sides?
Well, it’s still early days and we’ve got three more rounds of group stage encounters to unfold. Let’s get to it, then!

Tuesday 5 November
Group E
Liverpool 1/12
Draw 17/2
Genk 23/1
The champions return to European action this Tuesday as Genk are welcomed to the fortress, Anfield. The Reds are unbeaten in 23 home matches in UEFA competitions and won comfortably in Belgium, claiming an emphatic 4-1 win over Genk. Another defeat for the visitors here would see them with go into Matchday Five without any hope of reaching the Round of 16
. At 1/4, there isn’t a safer bet worth looking at here than backing Liverpool on the (-1) Handicap.
Napoli 15/20
Draw 31/10
FC Salzburg 28/10
Napoli have a chance to qualify for the Round of 16 when they host FC Salzburg this Tuesday in Naples. A win for the hosts would see them book their spot in the next round, provided Genk lose to Liverpool. The Italians won 3-2 in Salzburg on Matchday Three and also beat the Austrian side 3-0 in this fixture when they met back in March in the UEFA Europa League. Salzburg have been free-scoring this season and boast the competition’s most lethal striker at the moment in Erling Haland, who has six goals to his name – more than any other player in the UEFA Champions League.
Put your money on Napoli to Win & Both Teams to Score at 29/20.
Group F
Barcelona 2/11
Draw 57/10
Slavia Prague 13/1
Barcelona welcome Slavia Prague to the Camp Nou on Tuesday, with the Spanish champions aiming to move closer to confirming their place in the Round of 16. Ernesto Valverde’s men had to dig deep to grind out a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic outfit at the Sinobo Stadium last month. The Catalans, who have collected seven points from three matches, will expect the same result against the Czech side, who are yet to win a game in Group F. This time, they’ll hope it will be more comfortable in front of their fans.
That should be the case, therefore, I’ll back Barca on the (-1) Handicap at 5/10.
Dortmund 19/20
Draw 5/2
Inter Milan 26/10
The battle between Dortmund and Inter Milan has all the makings of a cracking matchup as one of the sides will most likely join Barcelona in the Last 16. Both teams are level on four points after three matches played, with the Italians having a (+1) goal difference. Antonio Conte’s men got the better of the Bundesliga club last time out, winning 2-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Like the Italians, Lucien Favre’s side will be hoping to make home advantage count.
With both teams set to go all out for the win, I suggest avoid picking a result and instead back Both Teams to Score at 13/20.
Group G
Zenit 31/20
Draw 5/2
RB Leipzig 31/20
RB Leipzig travel to Russia on Tuesday to take on Zenit St. Petersburg. The Bundesliga club sit top of Group G with six points, while the Russian champions are in second place with four points, level with Lyon but ahead with a (+1) goal difference. Leipzig came from behind to beat Zenit 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena last time out and Julian Nagelsmann will hope his side can come away with maximum points. A trip to Russia will no doubt be a difficult test as Zenit comfortably beat Benfica 3-1 at the Gazprom Arena on matchday two. It’s tough to pick a winner here.
Both Teams to Score at 5/10 is the way to go.
Lyon 1/1
Draw 26/10
Benfica 24/10
Group G proves to be one of the most open groups in the UEFA Champions League as all four teams have a shot at qualification as we head into the second round of the group stage ties. Lyon sit in third place with four points to their name, their only defeat coming against Benfica on Matchday Three. The Eagles boast just the one victory in the group, but could move into the top two places with a win, provided Zenit don’t beat Leipzig. Benfica left it late last time out to beat Lyon and perhaps things could be the other way around, given Lyon’s home advantage.
My money is on the home win.
Group H
Chelsea 1/1
Draw 26/10
Ajax 47/20
The Matchday Three tie between Ajax and Chelsea, in many ways, disappointed the neutrals in a game which saw the Blues edge a hard-fought 1-0 win in Amsterdam. It wasn’t one for entertainment, but Frank Lampard will take plenty of positives from that result – arguably the most impressive victory in his managerial career.
Like Chelsea, though, Ajax have proven to be much better suited away from home, claiming a 3-0 win at Valencia this term, while they also beat Tottenham (0-1), Juventus (1-2) and Real Madrid (1-4) in recent months. Meanwhile, Chelsea lost their opening encounter at home to Valencia, going down 1-0. I predicted Ajax to beat the Blues last time out and got it wrong, for betting purposes, let’s hope I don’t get it wrong the second time around.
My money is on the away win at 47/20.
Valencia 8/10
Draw 49/20
Lille 7/2
Valencia continue to keep themselves in touching distance of the top two in Group H and will benefit from Chelsea and Ajax meeting at the same time as this fixture. The Bats have four points, two behind the joint-leaders, while a win here would eliminate Lille from standing any chance of reaching the Last 16. The French side haven’t won in their last six away trips in UEFA competitions, losing four times, while they’re also yet to beat Valencia in five attempts.
Back the home win here.
Wednesday 6 November
Group A
Real Madrid 1/5
Draw 11/2
Galatasaray 11/1
Real Madrid look to go one step closer of reaching the Round of 16 when they welcome Galatasaray to the Santiago Bernabeu. Madrid claimed a narrow 1-0 victory in Istanbul last time out and a repeat of that result would see Gala unable to reach the Last 16. The Turks’ record at Real Madrid doesn’t bode too well for their chances, though. In all three of their visits, Gala have lost by a three-goal margin.
Real Madrid haven’t been brilliant all season, but should do what is required of them and win on the (-1) Handicap at 5/10.
Paris Saint-Germain 1/6
Draw 6/1
Club Brugge 13/1
Paris Saint-Germain have been one of the most impressive teams in the UEFA Champions League this campaign, winning all three of their encounters without conceding a single goal. In their last tie, PSG smashed Club Brugge 5-0, with Kylian Mbappe coming off the bench to score a hat-trick in 23 minutes. In all honesty, Percy Tau and co. stand very little chance of causing an upset here.
At 9/20, PSG have got to be backed on the (-1) Handicap here.
Group B
Bayern Munich 1/6
Draw 13/2
Olympiacos 12/1
High-flying Bayern Munich look to continue with their early dominance in Group B when they host Olympiacos at the Allianz Arena this Wednesday. Bayern are the competitions top scorers with 13 goals in three games and managed to secure a 3-2 win over Olympiacos in Greece. Another win here and Bayern will be through to the Last 16. To make it easier, if Spurs win and they draw, the Bavarians would still progress. This season has proven that Bayern Munich are not the type to need favours from other clubs and should do the business on their own. Get on the Home Team Totals – Over 2.5 – at 6/10.
Red Star Belgrade 9/2
Draw 33/10
Tottenham 5/10
After being hammered 5-0 by Tottenham in London, Red Star will be happy to return to their fortress stadium in Belgrade, where they’ve never lost a game in the UEFA Champions League this term, winning three of their five encounters. Spurs seem to be allergic to an away win at the moment, failing to win on the road across all competitions this campaign. Belgrade is one of the toughest places to earn a victory in football and that was evident last season, when Red Star managed a 2-0 win over Liverpool and drew against Napoli. The hosts also smashed Olympiacos 3-1 earlier this season in Belgrade.
Back Red Star on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 27/20.
Group C
Dinamo Zagreb 12/10
Draw 49/20
Shakhtar Donetsk 21/10
Group C gets underway as Dinamo Zagreb lock horns with Shakhtar Donetsk as both sides continue their fight for second spot, boasting four points each after three games played. Zagreb have the edge on goal difference and will be looking to make home advantage count after earning a 2-2 draw in Kharkiv. However, the hosts are yet to win against Shakhtar in three attempts, losing twice.
It’s certainly going to be another cagey affair, so I’d have a punt on the draw.
Atalanta 47/10
Draw 39/10
Manchester City 9/20
Italy’s iconic San Siro Stadium draws back its curtains when Manchester City come to town to face Atalanta on Wednesday. The Italians were battered and bruised at the Etihad Stadium, where a Raheem Sterling-inspired Man City claimed an emphatic 5-1 win over Atalanta. The hosts conceded 11 goals this term, while the Sky Blues will be looking to book their spot in the next round with a win in Italy.
Get on the away win here at 9/20!
Group D
Lokomotiv Moscow 9/2
Draw 28/10
Juventus 6/10
Juventus look to do the double over Lokomotiv after claiming a hard-fought 2-1 win in Turin. Another victory here for the Old Lady would see Juventus book their spot in the next round. For Lokomotiv, a defeat here could see them out of the running for a berth in the Last 16. Juventus won all three of their previous encounters, but this time around, I’m expecting somewhat of an upset.
My money is on a draw.
Bayer Leverkusen 16/10
Draw 43/20
Atletico Madrid 17/10
We close the round off with a thrilling tie on Wednesday between Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid. Atleti grinded out a 1-0 win at home to Leverkusen, meaning another victory here would book their place in the Round of 16, provided Lokomotiv Moscow lose as well. For the Germans, anything but a win could see them eliminated. In seven meetings with Atletico, Leverkusen have only managed one win.
Once again, this is a tough test for both sides, but I’d back another share of the spoils at 43/20.
Tuesday DOUBLE @ 7/1
Napoli Win & BTTS 29/20
Ajax Win 47/20
Wednesday DOUBLE @ 8/1
Red Star Win + Draw 27/20
Lokomotiv vs Juventus Draw 28/10
