Scotland will be looking to bounce back from their opening round defeat to Ireland when they take on a Samoan side who beat Russia 9-34 in their first outing.
The pressure is well and truly on the 'Scot after Japan managed a historic victory over the Irish this past Saturday. The result saw Japan move to the top of the standings with eight points, while Ireland moved to six points having claimed a losing bonus point in the defeat. The 'Scots, who are on zero points, need a bonus-point win here to keep the pressure on their pool rivals.
Samoa, who currently sit five points clear of Scotland, know they could really throw the cat amongst the pigeons if they get a win here. They were good value against Russia in their opener and are likely to give the 'Scots a stern test if they can maintain their discipline.
Verdict: Samoa (+18.5) 9/10
This should be a rather open game with both sides having attacking mentalities. I fancy the Samoans to stay within the 'cap.

France will be looking to claim their second win of the campaign when they take on a United States team that were heavily beaten by England in their opener.
The French managed to scrape a narrow two-point victory over Argentina in the opening round. The victory was a crucial one as it the French now just need to beat the United States and the other pool minnows and they'll be assured of a place in the play-offs.
Their opponents were given an absolute pasting at the lineout by the English last week but did hold their own at scrum time. They are unlikely to cause the French as many issues here as the French front row is packed with solid technicians.

I'll be having a small strike on the French minus here. They have a quality side who really should clear the 'cap but I'm going to keep the stake to a minimum as the French of notorious for struggling against mediocre sides.

What is likely to be a second-strength All Black side will look to run up a big score when they take on the Canadians who opened their campaign with a 48-7 defeat to Italy.
As touched upon, this is likely to be a much-changed New Zealand side from the one that beat South Africa by ten points with the likes of Rieko Ioane, Jordie Barrett, Codie Taylor and Brad Webber all set to be given some game time.

This second-strength New Zealand side will be looking to prove a point with players such as Rieko Ioane looking to play themselves back into the first string. I think we may well get our first hundred point game of the tournament here.

Fiji will be looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to Uruguay when they take on a Georgian outfit who beat the South Americans 33-7 this past Sunday.
The Islanders will be bitterly disappointed with how their campaign has gone since the first half of their game against Australia where they went into the sheds with a half-time lead and were then run rampant by the Aussies. This disappointing second-stanza was followed by a shock three-point defeat to Uruguay.

I'm expecting a massive response from the Fijians here. They will want to salvage some pride from what has been a very mediocre campaign.

Ireland will be looking to bounce back from their upset defeat to tournament hosts Japan when they take on a plucky yet limited Russian outfit.
Joe Schmidt's Irish lads will be looking to make a big statement having gone down 19-12 this past Saturday. While the Japanese were excellent, the Irish were guilty of laking composure during the defeat. The result means that the Irish need to claim a bonus-point win here and hope Scotland or one of the minnows beat Japan if they are to top the pool and avoid the All Blacks in the quarter-finals.

While the Russians have given a decent account of themselves staying within the two handicaps in their first two games, I fear they are in for a drubbing from what will be a smarting Russian side.
