Our soccer pundit previews the German Bundesliga week 26 action which kicks off on Friday 9 March 2018.
It was a good weekend on the tipping front for yours truly, predicting seven out of nine of the clashes from round 25 of the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich are 20 points clear of the pack and require just three wins to reclaim the title of champions for a sixth consecutive season!
Friday 9 March
Mainz 51/20
Draw 23/10
Schalke 11/10
Mainz have managed just one win from their last six matches and will need to turn that form around against high-flying Schalke. The latter have been impressive of late with three wins on the spin and will be determined to build on that.
Schalke have won four of the last five meetings between the sides, including a 2-0 victory in the reverse tie. The away win should be backed.
Saturday 10 March
Hannover 5/4
Draw 9/4
Augsburg 9/4
Hannover have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats, while Augsburg have been dismal in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches.
Goals have been few and far between in recent head-to-heads and I wouldn’t be surprised to see another dour affair here. With both teams struggling to get on the scoresheet, as well as win games, the Under 2.5 Goals market is tipped at 7/10.
Hoffenheim 13/20
Draw 28/10
Wolfsburg 39/10
Hoffenheim are off the back of an impressive 2-0 win away to Augsburg and will gladly return to their ground on Saturday. Wolfsburg are without a win in their last five games, including three losses in the process.
Hoffenheim have been fairly decent on home soil and will be looking to capitalize on home advantage.
Back the hosts to come out on top.
Hertha Berlin 21/20

Freiburg 28/10
Hertha Berlin are winless in their last three matches but have shown great fighting spirit and will be hoping to go one better and claim maximum points. Freiburg have one of the worst away records in the league with just one win from 12 travels.
The corresponding fixture ended in a share of the spoils, with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw. Back Hertha Berlin to utilize home advantage.
Bayern Munich 1/8

Hamburg 20/1
Bayern Munich are unbeaten at home with 10 wins and two draws from 12 matches, scoring 34 goals and conceding just nine times. Hamburg are second from bottom on the standings without a win in their last 11 matches on the road.
This is a no brainer with the Bavarians looking a promising bet but offering little value to go by. With that being said, Bayern Munich are tipped to Win Both Halves at 9/10. Get on!
Bayer Leverkusen 7/10
Draw 29/10
Monchengladbach 34/10
Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-1 victory at Wolfsburg but return to their ground where they have lost back-to-back matches. Monchengladbach are winless in their last three matches and have lost five of their last six travels.
Both teams will be eager to find their feet and fight their way to a victory.
An end-to-end game of football is on the cards with Both Teams to Score – Yes – the way to go at 13/20.
Sunday 11 March
Stuttgart 18/10
Draw 23/10
Leipzig 15/10
Stuttgart have been in top form with four consecutive victories and will be determined to maintain that brilliant form. Leipzig did well to hold Dortmund to a 1-1 draw last weekend but have battled on the road and are likely to struggle to get going here.
The hosts have done well at their ground this season and will be hoping to maintain that record. Back Stuttgart to grind out another home win.
Borussia Dortmund 7/10

Eintracht Frankfurt 15/4
Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 10 matches and at this point, are playing for a second-place finish with Bayern Munich 21 points clear of the Black and Yellow Army. Eintracht Frankfurt have suffered two losses on the bounce on their travels and that doesn’t look like improving here.
BVB have won the last seven meetings against Eintracht Frankfurt at Westfalenstadion by at least two goals or more and are likely to claim another comfortable victory. Take Dortmund on the (-1) Handicap at 33/20!
Monday 12 March
Werder Bremen 8/10
Draw 26/10
Cologne 34/10
Werder Bremen have lacked consistency but have impressed at home of late, winning back-to-back games, scoring four goals and conceding just once. Basement-dwellers Cologne have been terrible on the road with nine losses from 12 games, scoring eight goals and conceding 21 times.
As much as I expect Werder Bremen to claim the victory, Cologne aren’t going down without a fight. Seven of the last eight meetings between the sides have seen Under 2.5 Goals – follow the trend at 9/10.
