Our soccer pundit previews the German Bundesliga week 27 action which kicks off on Friday 16 March 2018.
It was a bit of a tough week on the betting front last time out,but I’m feeling confident I can turn that form around in week 27 of the Bundesliga. Just to catch you up, Bayern Munich are well on course for a sixth consecutive title and by well on course, I mean 20 points clear of their closest rivals, while just two victories will see the Bavarians reclaim league honours.
Friday 16 March
Freiburg 29/20
Draw 43/20
Stuttgart 39/20
Freiburg will be looking to return to winning ways following a run of three matches without a win but with just three goals scored in their last six matches it won’t be cut and dry. Stuttgart are unbeaten in their last six matches, including back-to-back wins on the road.
The Swabians also have a good record against the hosts, as they remain unbeaten against them in the last five meetings with four wins.
However, a tight affair is very much likely so back Stuttgart on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 11/20.
Saturday 17 March
Hamburg 15/10
Draw 2/1
Hertha Berlin 2/1
Hamburg have been in dreadful form as they remain without a win in their last 13 matches, including a 6-0 thumping at Bayern Munich last time out. Hertha Berlin have travelled poorly with only three wins from 13 games and are winless in their last four matches.
With that being said, neither team can afford to drop points.
A cagey contest is on the cards and the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market looks likely at 5/10.
Eintracht Frankfurt 13/20
Draw 11/4
Mainz 17/4
Eintracht Frankfurt have been inconsistent in recent weeks, but it’s their poor form on their travels that is costing them. On home soil they have been excellent with four consecutive victories. Mainz have been dismal with just one win from their last seven matches.
The Eagles have won the last three meetings on their ground against Mainz and are well-deserved favourites to add to that tally.
The home win is the way to go.
Augsburg 14/10
Draw 9/4
Werder Bremen 2/1
Augsburg will come into this matchup confident after ousting Hannover 3-1 away from home last weekend. However, Werder Bremen won their tie against Cologne by the same scoreline which makes for an interesting clash on Saturday afternoon.
Seven of the last eight head-to-heads have seen both teams find the back of the net, so I suggest following the trend.
Get on Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 15/20.
Monchengladbach 33/20
Draw 49/20
Hoffenheim 31/20
Monchengladbach have been below-par in recent weeks and remain five points off the European places. Hoffenheim have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins, scoring five goals without conceding and will be determined to maintain that form.
However, Gladbach have proven to be unpredictable at home this season. I’d rather get on the exotic markets here with the last nine league meetings between the teams producing 40 goals at an average of 4.4 per game.
The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 13/20.
Wolfsburg 49/20
Draw 22/10
Schalke 23/20
Wolfsburg are winless in their last six matches, including back-to-back defeats. Schalke have been brilliant with four straight wins, scoring six goals and conceding just once. The hosts are only above the relegation zone due to their superior goal difference.
I’m expecting the Wolves to put up a solid fight with home advantage on their side.
Both Teams to Score is tipped at 9/10! Get on!
Sunday 18 March
Borussia Dortmund 4/10

Hannover 57/10
Borussia Dortmund and Hannover will square off Sunday’s opening Bundesliga matchup. The Black and Yellow Army are undefeated in their last 11 matches, while Hannover have lost their last three games, scoring just once and conceding five times.
The Reds are also without a victory in their last eight travels and that doesn’t look like improving here.
Back Dortmund on the (-1) Handicap at even money.
Cologne 33/10
Draw 11/4
Bayer Leverkusen 15/20
Cologne have been poor of late with two losses on the bounce. Bayer Leverkusen have won three of their last four matches, including back-to-back wins, scoring four goals and conceding just once in the process.
Die Werkself won the reverse tie 2-1 and look likely to edge the win once more. Take Bayer Leverkusen to come away with maximum points.
Leipzig 17/4
Draw 32/10
Bayern Munich 6/10
Leipzig are winless in their last four matches but will be eager to pick up their game time against the league leaders. Bayern Munich have won their last six games on the road and will be looking to move one step closer to the title with a win here.
The away win is tipped.
