The Kings will be looking to slay the Dragons when the two sides lock horns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday the 2nd of March.
The Kings will return home on a quest to secure their first win of the inaugural Pro14 season. The men from Nelson Mandela Bay have lost all 16 of their games this term and only have four bonus points to show for their endeavours.
While this weekends host have been horrendous during their debut season in 'Pro' rugby, they may just have a shot at claiming their first win of the campaign as the Newport Gwent Dragons come to town devoid of their Welsh internationals and on a patchy run of form.
Southern Kings v Newport Gwent Dragons
Friday 2 March
Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
19:35
To Win (80 Mins)
Kings 23/20
Draw 20/1
Dragons 15/20
Kings
No one said life in the Pro14 would easy but the Kings really are finding the going hard. We're 16 games into the tournament and Deon Davids' men have only four log points to show for themselves. They have a horrendous points differential which currently sits at a staggering -423.
This weekend's hosts also look assured for picking up the tournament's dreaded wooden spoon award as they currently sit 13 points off the second worst performing side, which is ironically the Newport Gwent Dragons.
The Kings head into Friday's clash off the back of yet another heavy defeat as they went down 64-7 to a Leinster outfit that was devoid of its Six Nations internationals. Prior to that fixture, the Kings actually managed to give a good account of themselves against the Ospreys, going down by just 14 points.
Dragons
Like the Kings, the Dragons have found the going tough in the Pro14 with the Welsh outfit only managing to win two of their 16 fixtures. They have managed a couple of draws though, with the latest being a rather impressive 15-15 stalemate with overall log leaders, the Glasgow Warriors.
The Dragons also head into this one off the back of a disheartening defeat as they went down 12-25 to Edinburgh at home. The defeat was their second of the year, with them going down at home to Treviso the week prior to the Edinburgh defeat.
Verdict: Kings 23/20
I'm going to do the unthinkable and actually back the Kings to win a game of rugby. The Dragons have struggled since their early-February draw with Glasgow and I think the Kings just may be able to pip them here. A very small strike on the home side is my play here.
