The Rebels seem to have stepped out the shadows this year, with their off-season recruitment program reaping great dividends. Wallabies, Will Genia and Adam Coleman, have been instrumental for the men from Melbourne during their unbeaten start to the campaign.
As was the case against the Reds, whom the Rebels beat 45-19 in their opening fixtures, the Rebels were full value on attack against the Sunwolves this past weekend as they managed to outscore their Japanese opponents 17-37 - clearing yet another minus handicap.
Brumbies
While the Rebels have managed to hit their straps from the onset of 2018 season, the Brumbies have been a lot more suspect registering a rather unconvincing 25-32 victory over the Sunwolves and a 16-10 loss to the Reds. Not the sort of form you want to be carrying into a clash with Australia's form franchise.
Despite their indifferent form, the Brumbies may feel quietly confident heading into this one as they have won four of the last five encounters between the two sides. In fact, the men from Canberra have won two of the last five meetings between the sides by 28 points or more, with one of the aforementioned 'big' victories coming last year where the Brumbies won 32-3.
Verdict: Rebels 6/10
The Brumbies may have the pedigree but the Rebels are in such good form that I simply cannot ignore them on the straight win at 6/10.
