There are four Super Rugby fixtures headed rugby fans way on Saturday the 24th March.
There's a slightly short Super Rugby fixture list on the horizon with only four Super Rugby fixtures scheduled for Saturday. While the abbreviated fixture list does rob fans of an extra game, it isn't exactly a diluted schedule as there are some epic clashes in store for us including a New Zealand derby between the Hurricanes and Highlanders.

There's an extremely early start for South African rugby fans this Saturday with the Sunwolves and Chiefs getting the day's play underway at 6:15 AM. The hosts head back home after putting in a solid display against the Lions last weekend, in which they only went down by just two points. The Chiefs also managed to impress against South African opposition as they produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat the Bulls by 13 points.
When these sides met last year in Wellington the game turned into something of a bun fight with the Chiefs only managing to emerge victorious by seven points.

I'm expecting another tight encounter. The Chiefs have been playing some good rugby but they must be feeling slightly fatigued with the number of injuries they've sustained.

Our next fixture could prove to be one for the ages with Chris Boyd's Hurricanes travelling to Otago to take on Aaron Mauger's unbeaten Highlanders. The visitors made it three wins from three starts as they beat the Crusaders 25-17. The Hurricanes weren't in action last week as they enjoyed a bye.

I'm going the plus route here as I think this game will be a tight affair, particularly with Lima Sopoaga in solid kicking form. Make sure you check out our full preview for a different opinion, however.

We head off to South Africa for our next fixture with the Stormers set to take on the Reds in Cape Town. The hosts bounced back from a disappointing tour of Australasia by beating the Blues 37-20 at Newlands, while the Reds kept up their impressive form by beating the Jaguares 7-18 out in Buenos Aires.
The Stormers have had the upper hand over the Reds in recent years beating Queensland's finest 40-22 in 2016. This Reds side has a completely different feel to it and they could cause the hosts a few problems at Newlands.
Verdict: Reds (+12.5) 9/10
The Reds have shown a doggedness under Brad Thorn that has been missing in Queensland for almost a decade. I can see them giving the Stormers a real run, and subsequently staying within a rather large 'cap.

Our final fixture of the day sees the Lions take on their bogey team, the Jaguares, out in Buenos Aires. The hosts head into this one off the back of two lacklustre displays as they went down 35-38 to the Blues in Round 4 and narrowly defeating the Sunwolves 40-38 last weekend.
The Jaguares head into this one off a mixed bag of results having beaten the Waratahs in Round 4 and then having gone down to the Reds in Round 5.
These two sides have already locked horns this season, with the Lions running out 47-27 victors in Johannesburg in Round 2. It's likely to be a lot tighter in Argentina.
Verdict: Jaguares (+8.5) 9/10
Yes, the 'Jags have been far from convincing at home this season but they should be able to give a far from vintage Lions side a real run in Buenos Aires.
