With international breaks done and dusted for the season, teams will look to complete what they have started.
Barcelona are well on course in winning a memorable treble. The Catalans are 10 points clear at the summit with 10 games to go. The Blaugrana have also made it to the Copa del Rey final where they will face Valencia and they will meet up with Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Zinedine Zidane got off to a winning start when his Real Madrid side saw off Celta Vigo 2-0. It’s another “almost there” season for Atletico Madrid after giving away a 2-0 lead to Juventus in the Last 16 and also losing to Athletic Bilbao on gameweek 28.
Friday 29 March
Girona 7/4
Draw 39/20
Athletic Bilbao 18/10
Mid-table neighbours Girona and Athletic Bilbao are set to lock horns in a low-profile La Liga match to kick-start gameweek 29 at the Estadi Municipal. Both teams come into this match fresh from 2-0 wins over Leganes and Atletico Madrid respectively. The visitors have struggled a lot on the road this season, winning just two matches from 13 travels. These sides have met on three occasions and on all three occasions, the home team came out victorious with Bilbao winning twice.
As the form suggests, back the home team to claim maximum points.
Saturday 30 March
Getafe 9/10
Draw 43/20
Leganes 36/10
In-form Getafe will welcome Leganes at the Alfonso Perez Stadium to kick-off Saturday’s La Liga matches. The hosts are having are flying high at the moment, with Champions League qualification their main objective. The Deep Blues currently occupy fourth spot, which ensures a shot at next season’s Champions League group stages and are two points ahead of fifth-placed Alaves who take on Atletico Madrid later in the day, so their lead can stretch to five points if the hosts win.
Massive opportunity for the hosts, back Getafe to win comfortably.
Barcelona 2/11
Draw 6/1
Espanyol 12/1
Barcelona now need to win six from their remaining 10 games to be officially crowned La Liga champions and they will want to wrap it up as early as possible so that they can focus on the Champions League and Copa del Rey if they are to win the treble. The hosts are firing in all cylinders, winning their last six fixtures.
Get on Barcelona to Win Both Halves at 11/10.
Celta Vigo 16/10
Draw 23/10
Villarreal 33/20
The game of the day has to be Celta Vigo vs Villarreal... because this is a fight for survival with just four points separating the two sides from the red zone. The visitors have picked up at the right time winning their last four matches in all competitions and also progressing to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Celta Vigo are definitely getting relegated, the Celtics have lost 11 of their last 12 matches and chances of survival are getting slimmer each day.
Get on the visitors to pile more misery on Celta Vigo.
Deportivo Alaves 17/4
Draw 47/20
Atletico Madrid 15/20
It’s do or die for Alaves when they face second-placed Atletico Madrid in an all to play for encounter. The hosts could be five points behind fourth-placed Getafe when this match kicks-off, therefore, this is a must-win game for Alaves if they are to make their UEFA Champions League debut. On the other hand, it’s also a must-win match for Atletico Madrid after losing back-to-back encounters against Juventus and Athletic Bilbao. Atleti are now 10 points behind log leaders Barcelona and anymore slip-ups will mean Barca lift the trophy sooner than expected.
This is a tricky match for both teams with everything to play for, so I suggest backing a share of the spoils.
Sunday 31 March
Levante 7/4
Draw 5/2
Eibar 29/20
Levante, who started the season brightly, have started to wobble a bit after failing to win in each of their last four league encounters. The Frogs are now languishing in 15th place on the log, six points away from the drop zone. Eibar have also been struggling recently, winning one match in their last seven league encounters. Despite the poor form from both parties, I don’t think any of the two teams will be relegated particularly with teams like Huseca, Vallecano and Celta Vigo not doing any justice for themselves.
Back a draw here at 5/2.
Rayo Vallecano 18/10
Draw 24/10
Real Betis 29/20
Rayo Vallecano sacked their coach before the international break after losing seven successive matches. I don’t think there’s any coach in the world that can save them at the moment so firing their mentor won’t solve the underlying problems with the players. The team hasn’t been scoring goals and they have been leaking at the back. Real Betis had a perfect opportunity to break into the top four but Los Beticos bottled it with a sequence of poor performances and they also bowed out of the Europa League. On their day, Real Betis can be a hard nut to crack and this is a brilliant opportunity for them to bounce back to winning ways.
Back the visitors at 29/20.
Sevilla 21/20
Draw 51/20
Valencia 49/20
Sevilla finally sacked head coach Pablo Machin after a series of poor results including losses against relegation strugglers Celta Vigo, Villarreal and Huesca. The hosts are still in with a shout for top four as they are three points behind fourth-placed Getafe. Valencia are not far off the pace with the Bats sitting three points behind their opponents. The visitors have drawn 16 times this season more than any other side and I see nothing but another draw here.
Back these sides to cancel each other out at 51/20.
Real Valladolid 16/10
Draw 2/1
Real Sociedad 19/10
The international break came at a wrong time for Valladolid after they ended their four-match losing streak when beating Eibar 2-1 on the road. The hosts will be looking for back-to-back victories for the first time this year and they will be confident playing a Sociedad team that is winless in four. They also lost to Valladolid at home in December.
Back the hosts to make it back-to-back wins against inconsistent Sociedad.
Real Madrid 1/8
Draw 15/2
Huesca 16/1
Real Madrid brought back one of their most successful coaches Zinedine Zidane after a terrible season with Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari. Zidane stuck to the basics and brought back out of favour players like Isco and Marcelo, the same players he used to win three Champions League titles in a row. Another positive for Los Blancos was that the team kept a clean sheet something which was very rare under the above-mentioned coaches. With Zidane back at the helm, a team like Huesca stands no chance against Real Madrid, especially playing at home.
Get on Zidane’s men to win Both Halves at 9/10.
Treble Tipped at 9/1
Barcelona Win Both Halves 11/10
Real Betis Win 29/20
Getafe Win 9/10
