Dyanti B Sample Fails
Golden Lions star Aphiwe Dyanti saw his appeal against his doping case suffer a major setback as his 'B' sample also tested positive. This is a massive blow for the 2018 IRB World Breakthrough Player of the Year, who now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with some experts saying he could be out of the game for up to four years.
Laumpape and Franks Miss World Cup
New Zealand named their Rugby World Cup squad last week and there was no space for Hurricanes star centre Nagani Laumpape nor veteran Crusaders prop Owen Franks who were left out of the 31-man squad.

Crotty Back With a Bang
While a lot of people are still questioning the non-selection of Laumape, Ryan Crotty's performance for Canterbury last Saturday will have gone a long way to quelling the critics. The veteran centre was virtually unstoppable scoring two tries against Southland during the first half of the Mitre 10 Cup clash. And while he only played 40-minutes before being replaced, Crotty looked fitter than every which will be music to the ears of All Black fans.
South Africa World Cup Squad Named
Like New Zealand, the Springboks also named their World Cup squad last week with the major shock seeing Sharks centre André Esterhuizen omitted. This means Rassie Erasmus has taken just two recognized inside centres with him in the form of Damien de Allende and Frans Steyn.
