Our football pundit previews the English Premier League Week 11 action which kicks off on Saturday 2 November 2019.
And that’s what it’s all about! Yet again, the Premier League continued to be filled with thrilling moments to keep us at the edge of our seats. VAR was at the thick of things once more, but that didn’t take away some of the glitz and glamour from all 10 encounters.
Liverpool continued their early dominance, coming from behind to beat Spurs 2-1 at Anfield, while Manchester City remain hot on their heels after a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, but undoubtedly the shock result of the weekend came at St. Mary’s where Leicester City beat Southampton 9-0 away from home.
So, more of the same then? Let’s hope so!

Saturday 2 November
Bournemouth 43/20
Draw 5/2
Manchester United 5/4
Bournemouth’s winless run continued at Watford, holding the Hornets to a goalless draw at Vicarage Road. That’s now five games without a win across all competitions for Eddie Howe’s men. Meanwhile, Manchester United seemed to have turned the corner in recent weeks and claimed their first away win since February last time out at Norwich, earning a comfortable 3-1 win at Carrow Road.
The return of Anthony Martial made a massive difference as it afforded Marcus Rashford the chance to shift back into his best position on the left flank. Like the Norwich game, a trip to Bournemouth will be a very open encounter, which could suit United here.
Put your money on the away win at a profitable 5/4.
Brighton 15/20
Draw 3/1
Norwich City 33/10
Brighton fought on hard and it eventually paid off as the Seagulls got a 94th-minute winner courtesy of a Lucas Digne own goal. That’s now successive home victories for Graham Potter’s side after previously beating Tottenham 3-0 in their last tie at the Amex.
Norwich remained second from the bottom after their 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester United. That’s four losses from their last five games and seven from 10 in total. The Canaries are also winless on the road this term.
The home win is a banker here at 15/20.
Arsenal 7/10
Draw 3/1
Wolves 38/10
The wheels are looking like they’re starting to fall off at Arsenal. They had a goal disallowed due to VAR, which should have stood. Still, Arsenal shouldn’t have been reliant on a late decision by the referee to win the game, especially after being two goals up inside the opening 10 minutes.
Wolves have looked a shadow of themselves this season, but somehow, it has still been good enough to avoid defeat in five consecutive matches. On that unbeaten note, despite their troubles, Arsenal are also without defeat on home soil.
My money is on a share of the spoils here at 3/1.
Aston Villa 7/1
Draw 17/4
Liverpool 7/20
Aston Villa dropped three places down the table after their two-game winning run ended at Manchester City. Up next, a home tie against the runaway leaders, Liverpool. At the moment, its hard to see any team in the division stopping Liverpool and perhaps talk of going ‘Invincible’ is now a real possibility. Jurgen Klopp’s men lost just once last season and look even stronger this term as they now carry the tag of being European champions with them.
I fancy Liverpool on the (-1) Handicap here at 9/10.
Manchester City 1/10
Draw 9/1
Southampton 23/1
Manchester City steamrolled their way past Aston Villa, claiming a commanding 3-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium. It took a slow start from City, but once the champions hit their stride, there was only one outcome. Southampton were battered 9-0 in their last outing against Leicester City and now face the daunting task of going to City. It seems like its going to get a lot worse before it gets better for the Saints.
Manchester City should cruise to victory here – back them to Win By Three Or More Goals at 13/20.
Sheffield United 23/20
Draw 9/4
Burnley 26/10
Sheffield United go to war again this weekend as they entertain Burnley at Bramall Lane. The Blades have been undoubtedly the most impressive side from the newly-promoted clubs, enjoying life in the top half of the table. Burnley slipped to a 4-2 defeat at home to Chelsea last time out, but will have themselves to blame for the defeat after not taking their chances, while the Clarets also gifted the Blues with a couple of goals, making the difficult task of beating Chelsea even tougher.
Sheffield haven’t been free-scoring, while their defence has been one of the best in the division this term. I’d put my money on a draw here.
West Ham 9/10
Draw 26/10
Newcastle United 3/1
West Ham failed to make home advantage count against Sheffield United, letting their one-goal lead slip to draw the game 1-1. After their great start, the Hammers now find themselves winless in four league matches.
Newcastle, like West Ham, slipped to a 1-1 stalemate at home, but it was enough for the Magpies to move out of the bottom three and into 17th place. Steve Bruce’s men haven’t done too well on the road, winning just once in five attempts.
West Ham should come good here at 9/10.
Watford 37/10
Draw 31/10
Chelsea 7/10
Watford’s winless run continued as the Hornets failed to put Bournemouth to the sword, drawing 0-0 at home. They’re rock bottom and have scored just five goals all season – the lowest in the division. Never has there been a time where they’ve missed Troy Deeney more.
Chelsea look full value for the win, no matter who they come up against at the moment. They’re no longer the team that was over-reliant on one player, and despite the fact that Tammy Abraham is going through a little personal drought compared to the way he started the season, Chelsea still find a way to score goals aplenty.
The away win is an absolute banker here at 7/10.
Sunday 3 November
Crystal Palace 51/20
Draw 24/10
Leicester City 11/10
Sunday’s action kicks off at Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace host Leicester City in what should be a strenuous tie for the Eagles. Palace were, in many ways, lucky to get a draw at Arsenal, but still showed great fight and character to come from two goals down to draw 2-2.
Leicester City, on the other hand, needed no luck to show their quality, smashing Southampton in a record-breaking 9-0 victory at St. Mary’s Stadium. Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez both grabbed a hat-trick, but it was James Maddison and Ben Chilwell who orchestrated the whole thing.
Yet again, the away win is too good to pass up at 11/10!
Everton 7/4
Draw 49/20
Tottenham Hotspur 15/10
In undoubtedly the tie of the weekend, Goodison Park draws back its curtains as Everton welcome Tottenham to Merseyside. The Toffees were really unfortunate to not come away with something at Brighton after VAR was at the thick of things yet again for the penalty decision. Tottenham gave their all and left their heart on the pitch at Anfield, but due to some schoolboy errors in defence, Mauricio Pochettino’s men had to leave empty handed.
That defeat meant that Spurs are still winless on the road this season and haven’t won an away game since January. There’s something about Spurs at the moment which makes them so unpredictable, despite all the experience in their camp. You never know what you’re going to get from them.
At 7/4, I’ll be putting my money firmly on Everton, given Spurs’ wretched run of form on the road.
TREBLE @ 7/1
Brighton Win 15/20
Chelsea Win 7/10
Everton Win 7/4
