CAIRON found plenty of betting support when finishing second on debut. The son of Twice Over set the pace and challenged strongly to be denied victory by 0.5 lengths. Another positive is that the form of that race has been franked. He will enjoy the step up to the mile and can go one better from a good barrier position under top jockey, Gavin Lerena.

GIN FIZZ is a quality sort and ran an absolute cracker in the Joburg Spring Challenge, three weeks ago. She raced handy over this c&d and tried hard before being pipped by Vistula. This daughter of Soft Falling Rain does take on males today, but carries a handy galloping mass and should be at peak fitness. Callan Murray returns to the saddle and she should take a power of beating.

CULTURE TRIP has shown very good form to date. He drew off well to win his start over this c&d and has been given a very well-deserved 10 week break since. This son of Pomodoro is unbeaten in two starts over this c&d and is selected to keep that record in tact. Champion trainer Sean Tarry brings his horses back to the course fit and ready on their return to racing.

GEMCUTTER had a typical second run after a rest last time, but he was reported to have made a respiratory noise in that outing. He made his South African debut in his penultimate start and that effort was encouraging. This son of Var started as favourite and made good late progress up the straight. He will enjoy the step up in trip today and it's encouraging that jockey Muzi Yeni has opted to ride the Paul Matchett inmate. He should be at peak fitness this afternoon and from a good draw, should be the one to beat.
